Great place to go hiking. They have a lake, restrooms (I think they close during off season) and alot of picnic tables with grills. Benton falls is beautiful and worth the hike.

Gas and charcoal grill, shuttles to town, bicycles, tubing, kayaking, hot showers and wonderful people. Need I say more ok also had best skiing experience of a lifetime and just out our door we hiked one mile up a mountain to great panoramic views.

I love the Smoky mountains! And always treasure & enjoy whenever I get to visit and spend time there.
I was at the old hot springs resort on the French broad river-apparently one of the oldest rivers on earth delightful & gorgeous spot I had never visited before!

Beautiful national forest along the Tennessee and North Carolina border. Many beautiful sights and lots of good hiking trails. The Roan mountain area is especially beautiful in the spring the the flame azaleas and rhododendrons are on bloom. The Max Patch area is also great with beautiful views.

This is one of the most beautiful places I have been in a long time. The views of the lake and mountains are great! The people are very friendly and helpful. It has a real home town feeling. Very inviting, I will be back when I get the chance.

I have personally been all over this Great Country of ours, an seen many of the beautiful places ithas to offer. But the Cherokee National Forest is one of the most BEAUTIFUL places our country has to offer. And there is one place in particular that is my absolute favorite spot. Its in Hampton Tn in Carter Co and it's called Dennis Cove. If you take the time to hike the Trails here you won't be disappointed as there is excellent fishing, views, and Beautiful Waterfalls. And Hint Hint if you take the time to hike up the little cut off trails which run off the main trails you will find many of the hidden waterfalls and you won't be disappointed.

Beautiful scenery. Does have boat ramps, a picnic area, and swim area available. Lake is clean and stocked with plenty of different kinds of fish. There are a few hiking trails, the most notable one being the Appalachian Trail runs through. If you love the outdoors this is a good spot to visit.

All the history that surrounds this place is incredible! Something to do every where you turn, definitely a place to bring your boats and paddle boards, a different river around every turn. Go explore!

It is very open and quiet here. This is a very calming and peaceful place. I took my kayak out with my small children while my husband went fishing. We all had a great time here.

Roan Mountain, Watauga Lake and Elizabethton are among my favorite places in the Cherokee National Forest. Roan Mountain has a natural rhododendron garden that is spectacular during the June blooming season. Roan Mountain State Park has tent sites up to cabins. Panther Creek State Park is one of the more developed of the Tennessee State Parks and includes a gift shop, pavilions, RV dump station, warm bathhouses, laundromat etc. Hiking in this portion of the Cherokee National Forest includes the Appalachian Trail and the nearby Sycamore Shoals and Panther Creek State Parks and Carter Mansion are worth visiting. There is fishing, canoeing, camping, history, museums and lots of activities in this area of the Cherokee National Forest.
