I love this place its sooooo fancy. Its built like a village so there is something within short walking distance of your hotel room. The only thing I would say is that the restaurant service is slow but when you are in the keys you are on island time.
Loved our experience at Cheeca Lodge. Collin, made us feel welcome from the start or check-in to close out. The rest of the staff were extremely friendly and accommodated our every need. Could not have been more please with out stay, just wish we didn't have to go home. ☹️
The Cheeca is amazing. Our room had gotten upgraded so we had a small kitchen, sitting area, large bedroom and a HUGE bathroom. Food and drinks are pricey but the place makes up for it being right on the ocean and having friendly staff. The vibe in Islamorada is just so laid back and nice.
We r glad that we were part of the team that help restore this beautiful place after a scary and horrible storm. I hope to come back soon but only to relax and enjoy the view. once again thanks from Mr.and Mrs. Plasencia-Prieto. 😊👍
We went here for the " All in water sports" the lady at the front hate was awesome the rest of the staff was eh. Not as friendly as you would expect for " an upper class resort". All in water sports was amazing though! Catch me on YouTube for videos and more reviews to come!
There has been great service here with lots of friendly workers. The view and ambiance is wonderful. Lots of fun things to do at the hotel that are included in the cost of the room if you don't want to leave.
I have been going to Cheeca Lodge since 2008 with my husband and he has been going for years with his friends before that. Sadly this is not the same place when we went this year. What you see on social media is NOT TRUE! The rooms are falling apart, the place looks dirty, and the staff doesn't seem to care at all. The electrical plugs are coming out of the fixtures, the furniture is beat up, the spa pool is dirty with hair balls floating around it, and the paint is chipping. I even canceled our spa services once we were there for a few days. No one says hello to you. It used to be that when you arrived that they would already know all about you with the standard "Welcome Back"not anymore. The only good thing was that the sushi in their restaurant was actually good. I had such fond memories of this place each year that I would go with my husband. I honestly wish that I wouldn't have gone this year, because this is now my final memory of the place. I hope Cheeca is reading this and start to get their act together because they will continue to lose people like us. We won't be going back :(
Very romantic, but also great for families. Enjoyed all the options for the children. Only down fall was maintenance. Room was on the ocean with balcony hot tub, sadly 1 of the sinks was plugged, door to the bathroom was stuck. Mentioned to house keeping but nothing changed. For the cost, it should of been up to par. Pool area was also very dirty, they need to either clean or change the cushions on the lounge chairs. Our last night we decided to stay and enjoy the formal fine dinning restaurant on site. Sadly it was not a great experience. Family was all dressed for a nice evening to only again have very dirty seating (dirty cushions) service is another story. I think it was our waitress this time. Service was always wonderful other days. Front staff, valet, pool staff, and recreational staff was wonderful. Concierge was very friendly and was accomadting for reservations at other restaurants.
The room i requested was unavailable so was upgraded to two beach bungalow rooms. Wish i could have stayed longer. Will definitely be back
Awesome place to stay. The grounds are beautifully kept. The king suites are spacious and we'll appointed. There are great views of the ocean. They have resort amenities (golf, ocean kayaks, bikes, fishing) that are included. Great for families or a romantic couples get a way.
Phenomenal experience at this resort. You could not ask for a more helpful, courteous staff in ALL departments. The on-site restaurants are so wonderful that we never even considered going off-site for any meals. The resort is obviously well-managed and deserves any accolades reviewers might give itl
Had a two-night getaway to Cheeca Lodge and everything was wonderful. The staff are ready to accommodate any requests - although we had few. I highly recommend the Hot Shell Massage in their spa. The spa gets a 5 Star rating from me. It was wonderful.
My father has been coming here for mothers day brunch since the 80's when it was only $30 per person and he always raved about how amazing it was. For years my father, grandfather, grandmother, mother, brother and I went to this mothers day brunch until my grandfather passed away and we decided to try new places but none ever compared to Cheeca Lodge. This year we returned despite the OUTRAGEOUS price of $85 per person with 22% gratuity INCLUDED and I'm sad to say we were insanely disappointed and will not be returning. The first thing we noticed is that the buffet seating area was EMPTY and usually there was a line out the door, I guess we weren't the only ones that thought the price was way too expensive for the amount and quality of food they had. The buffet is not even half of the food it used to be even though its more than double the price it used to be. The chicken was over cooked, the prime rib wasn't good, and most of the desserts were as hard as a rock, I know it sounds like I'm being picky but for $475 for 4 people we had the right to be picky. Our waitress only came to our table to ask what drinks we wanted and for the bill, when my mom wanted a second mimosa we had to chase around another server cause ours was no where to be found and no one came to clear the plates off our table so we had to put them on the empty table next to ours. All of this left me thinking why %22 gratuity if the waiters don't even serve the food or pick up dirty plates. So basically we paid $475 for 4 PEOPLE to only have OK food (I would say 5/10). Safe to say we left very disappointed since this place was basically a tradition for us and we will NOT be returning.
