They made the state basketball tournaments terrible. The cell service was terrible and the WIFI does not work. The concession stands were total BS and outrageous. The music they played in between timeouts and games was absolutely terrible, it wasn’t even songs to get someone pumped up. Was all slow pop. My biggest issue is the so called “Even Staff”. The people they hire are the laziest and most rude I’ve ever seen. They mainly hire elders that have nothing else to do. Event Staff is supposed to be there to support and help the attendees. They think that yellow jacket gives them so much power and they can do and say what they want. The Civic Center only cares about the dollar, not how attendees are treated. Hire some decent and SMART people and not old and lazy people with no common sense. I recommend people to have their events at the Big Sandy.

The food is a ripoff!!! You would expect good food at the concession during a states game. $6.50 for 2 wimpy chicken strips and stale fries. Screw you.

The new design for entrance to events is HORRIBLE!!!! The area for entrance is too small for the crowd of people coming in. Witnessed several arguments because of this new design and all in front of my 3 year old!! I will not be returning for any events, it was crazy! They need to rethink the new design and change some things up before I even think of returning.

This venue is very clean and offers a wide variety of services. Also, it really doesn't matter where you sit here because the sound is amazing!

Just went with my Mom and Aunt to take Nan to see her dream man! Alan Jackson and Leann Womack whom were amazing and the staff at the venue were super friendly. So glad to see the renovations and expansion taking place. The venue will once again be the premiere location for concerts and large events.

Poor excuse for security. They had metal detectors for the Alan Jackson concert but there wasn't any point to them. People would walk thru them and set them off and they wouldn't even check the person to see why. They didn't even check inside of bags.

Saw Jason Aldean, Chris Young and Kane Brown with my sister on Sept. We had a wonderful time! The staff was friendly and very helpful. Fantastic show! Nice facilities that will be even better after the remodels done! I'll definitely be back!

Solid venue for large events, concerts, basketball games, and more. Wish they'd upgrade the coliseum as it's beginning to show its age.

Went to the FGL concert it was great until we left and went back to our car that was parked in the Civic Center parking garage. Where we found out our car window was busted and everything was stolen inside the car. It was an awful night after that.

Not a bad place to see a concert or other event. Good location and parking is usually readily available at a nearby garage. Traffic getting out after events can be a little bit of a headache though.

This is the place that brings everyone together. I am happy the building is going to be renovated over the next few years. Concerts and events from all over are held here.

Great center located in downtown Charleston which is a beautiful city. Great lodging choices only a few blocks from Civic Center so you can walk from your hotel/motel & not have to fight traffic. Also has great dining and entertainment choices nearby. Staff is friendly as well however not very accommodating for children. The staff allowed adults to stand in the center but wouldn't let children stand up on chair to see the show over the crowd even though they were very supervised. I've been three times and Will visit again. Charleston is a beautiful city.
