I stayed in the Rustic Cabin at Caveman Retreats. The place is DISGUSTING!! not taken care of at all, and did I mention I got BED BUGS!!!! I had to throw everything away I brought, and go to the hospital because it was so bad. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Not bad, not great, just ok. About as close as you're going to get to Hocking Hills State Park and right next to the General Store that sells soft serve ice cream. The tent camping spots are a little too close together if you're looking for any privacy. The bathrooms are pretty gross and not worth showering. Ultimately, just like the three star rating: "It's ok".

COULD be a great place.. the bathrooms are the most disgusting I have ever seen.. will not even use them.. drive way into the campground could use some work too.

If you just need a place to pitch a tent, this place offers that. However bathrooms were disgusting. No toilet paper or handsoap and i can only imagine feeling dirtier after a shower. Many sites were on a slant, so if you want level ground maybe ask or scrutinize photos. Reception was nice, though not always available.

Nestled within tons of places to go sightseeing and hiking, Cavemen Retreats offers a rustic cabin as well as a more modern cabin, along with various camp sites. We stayed in the rustic cabin. It offers a full kitchen with appliances including a microwave, an indoor toilet and shower, and electricity. For the price it was a great place to stay and close to so many attractions. The beds in the lofts weren't the most comfortable - so bring inflatable mattresses or sleeping bags. Don't plan on watching TV - and why should you? You should be outdoors or sleeping. Some may be put off by the condition of the rustic cabin. If that's not your thing, you better get the more modern one. Staff seemed super friendly. We enjoyed our stay. Best of all, it's dig friendly!

It has the essentials. A place to pitch a tent, picnic table and fire ring.

However, the common facilities are in decent shape at best.

I'd go back and didn't have a problem with the place it just want much to write home about.

Really laid back and close location to Hocking Hills areas. Good amount of space and like that we had a firepit, table, and restrooms.

We loved this place! If all you need is a place to park your rig while you explore the area, then this is it. If you're looking for a place to hang out in your $80,000 motor home or travel trailer then go to the snooty places down the road. We try to camp for free everywhere we go, but Hocking Hills is about the money. This place fit us perfect for having to pay to stay.

Nice location near many local attractions. Not too far from the main road but was not too noticeable. Has vending, eating area, and lit restroom area with heated showers. Sites are not too spacious, with a handful of trees scattered between each the sites to help limit visibility. But typically there's enough vacancy to have about 2 or 3 sites between neighbors. Convenient store less than a mile away. Very much worth the cost.

Hocking Hills is beautiful, but Caveman's Retreat was not impressive at all. There was no one there when we arrived to check in and we could not find the hours of operation on their website. We drove through the campsite to turn around and found that the campsites were pretty close to each other. Although it wasn't that great, Caveman's Retreat was surrounded by beautiful trees and had the basics for a campsite. There are multiple campgrounds located near Caveman's Retreat that are better.

Stayed in the Rustic Cabin with friends for a long weekend of hiking and exploring hocking hills. Cabin met all of our expectations and more! We had all we needed- a functional/clean bathroom, full kitchen, and a place to sleep/relax by the fire. Location was nearby all of the popular activities but you do need to drive to get to those places. Cabin is very secluded. Price was very reasonable. Will definitely try to get this cabin again on our next trip.
