I can't say enough good things about the experience we had at the birthing center at Carroll Hospital. Everyone from the doctors, to the nurses, to hospitality was wonderful for our whole stay.

We had so many nurses help us out. If I could remember all of them, I would give a special thanks. But we had so many folks in and out of the room that we couldn't keep it straight. They were wonderful with my girlfriend and our son, from taking their vitals to helping my girlfriend in and out of the bathroom and giving our baby baths.

Dr. Kirsch and Dr. Wilson are nothing but top notch. They were so helpful with my girlfriend's labor and gave her and our newborn nothing but the best care we could ever ask for.

I hope everyone who has a child at Carroll is as fortunate as we were to have such a great experience!

If I could have picked 0 stars I would have! My mom came in by ambulance with heart attack symptoms. They took her blood pressure , hooked her up to an EKG and stuck her in the hallway!! There are at least 15 other people stuck in the hallway. No wheelchairs to provide the elderly or disabled patients. Completely understaffed and not equip to handle emergencies at all!!! The front receptionist is extremely rude. The techs don't know what patients they are treating! Mistaked my sister for my mother and started asking her what her previous history was BUT acknowledged that he could see she (my mom) was discharged 2 weeks ago after spending A MONTH here! This hospital is a joke with multiple Mal Practice cases waiting to happen!

Worst experience ever at a hospital. I've had better service in baltimore city hospital. I recommend if you can go some place else.

Wonderful experience with my 16 year old son who was brought to ER with chest pain. ER doctor and staff respond quickly and got us transferred to university of MD fast. The peds cardiologist at University told us that if Carroll Hospital staff did not respond like they did we would of had a grave outcome! Very thankful!

This review is for the emergency department only. My wife and I have been twice in the last year, and both times we were seen quickly and attended to by competent and compassionate nurses and doctors. I was impressed and very happy with the care provided.

This is a small hospital, with a small town feel. You will deal with a PA. Typical. For what it is? 4 stars. They were good, they positively ID'd my insect bite and prescribed the proper antibiotics promptly. Very clean, you could smell the air was properly filtered and etc. PA Kevin Walsh saved my leg, possibly my life and worked with my existing health issues. I give them 4 stars, Kevin is a very talented and sharp PA!

Been in ER waiting area since 415 today. People walking around with IV poles with empty bags for several hours. Patients puking in waiting area with absolutely NO attention from staff. Just asked how much longer would the wait be to get into an exam room. "No idea " was the reply. Ridiculous. Ludicrous that 2 different Drs came to waiting room and announced results for all to hear regarding an adult and 1 pediatric pt. HIPPA?????

Polite and attentive employees and competent physicians on staff. However from a communication and administrative operational position this hospital is far below average. I am currently sitting in my room waiting to be discharged for 3 and a half hours now. I am waiting for the attending physician who I have never met to sign the release. In addition, the RN removed all leads and I'VE drips. However left the I'VE needles and tube station in my arms stating the Tech would be right in to remove. This was also three hours ago. Despite inquiries have not recieved any info as to when THE DISCHARGE Dr. Will be available. As suggested by others in the future I will select to go to Johnson Hopkins Howard County. This is simply unacceptable.

I came in for severe dehydration and the nurses and doctors there were so wonderful. I was so dehydrated to where they could not find a vain and even though I had to be poked with a needle 11 times to find a vain they never gave up!!! Thank you to all the nurses and doctors who took good care of me. Everyone was so welcoming and caring. My nurse and tech was amazing. They always made sure I was ok and they kept giving me warm blankets because I was cold. Thank you so much to the nurses and techs and doctors!! My experience was very good.

    Nurses: Amy, Julie, John

    Doctor: Dr. Collins

    Tech: Christine Flannagan

I was recently treated at Carroll Hospital for an outpatient surgery. The entire staff, from admission to pre-op, surgery and post-op, was prompt, professional, knowledgeable and most definitely courteous & supportive. I wish I could remember each of their names to thank them individually. I would most definitely recommend Carroll Hospital Center for their exceptional services.

Every time i have been here i have been treated horribly. From them flat out saying that I was lying as I was being wheeled in by EMS because of stroke like systems enough ended up being a TIA (mini stroke) to the time I came in because I thought my brain shunt was infected. They sent me home without any tests. 2 hours later my temp was 104, I was septic and ended up in the Neuro ICU for a month at Johns Hopkins. I warn you DO NOT go there

I was sent by ambulance to Carroll with a leg broken in 5 places on a Friday night. I was never even seen by a Dr., just a PA (who was very nice but just a PA). The orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Silver, was off site and didn't think my X-rays warranted his time so they sent me home with pain killers and a splint and told me to call on Monday. My leg was completely crooked. I could feel my bones splay out every 5 minutes. When a surgeon at Mercy Medical Center saw my X-rays the next day he had me come into their ER right away. I ended up needing emergency surgery immediately (the opened an OR just for me because it was so bad) with another surgery in 2 weeks. The damage to my soft tissue was already really bad from waiting as long as I had. All of the people at Carroll that I came in contact with were very nice My issue is with the people that were too lazy to even speak to me. If it were not for Mercy, I would have likely had permanent damage. My husband also had a similarly bad experience 10 years ago that later tests showed Carroll gave us incorrect test results. Avoid this hospital if you can.

If you can help it stay away from this ER. I can go on about it for a day, but keep it for last 2 visits. First time 4 months ago, go there with some kind of bad system-wide infection, with my other ongoing complicating factors. Get there and the place is packed, not even chairs for the hour long wait to sign in. At the sign in, ask for the wait time because first woman wouldn't tell me 12 hours. 2 hours later leave for Urgent care.
Then maybe 2 moths ago, still don't know what it was, best guess is some kind of thyroid attack basically debilitated me for 3 hours w/ partial seizures. Overheating, can't think and barely see for a while. With a flared up infection on hip that originated from the joint. So unfortunately went again. 9am on a weekday and place looks even more packed. Start asking for wait time, for 3 hours everyone saying they can't tell me, not even rough estimate. 3-4hours call me to start collecting info. Finally i just withhold my insurance info until they tell me, and they all start getting attitudes. Can't tell me, just wanting insurance info. I said I'm going to just leave then. Then the short woman sitting at a desk 10 ft. directly behind her gets up with her attitude and finally says 10 hours, like I'm asking for her bank account # while she is held hostage.
So I don't know.. 7 - 8 - 9 hours later, eventually taken back. Seems like 90 % of all of them are 18-24 years old. Obviously inexperienced. First start by telling me it can't be my thyroid because the thyroid is on sides of neck, not where this golf ball is in the middle. About this absess thing, basically just poke, bandage it and tell me I need to go to a surgeon. WTF! I've had primary doctors do it before.
So just an entire waste of my time, waste of no doubt inflated ins. payment. Frustrating, offensive, unprofessional waste, being exposed to whatever sicknesses lie in the overcrowded waiting area. And better hope you're not in pain. Avoid this ER if you have any ability to do so. Those are just my last 2 visits. I'm 34 I think, with very serious rare chronic conditions, know I've had not good visits in the past, but feels like it only gotten worse over 20+ years
I have no interest in calling your # in the replies. The problems are blaring. Triple the docs and nurses, experienced ones not minimum wage kids. Change the attitudes, god forbid maybe having a tiny bit of appreciation and some concern in a timely way for your sick customers of your community. While I understand its a problem, not everyone is simply there just trying score drugs, and you could go a long way for some people easing some of their legitimate suffering. Instead of it being the first assumption by every know-it-all 20yo nurse. It's ridiculous. I'm 34, brain tumor, failed hormone processes and failing. Very high risks for cancer and I probably already multiple types, chronic pain from deformed joints of acromegaly. Your place is probably the last place I'd go, and I currently live 5 - 10 minutes away. Feel bad for everyone around here that you're their hospital
