Went there and received the worst service ever. Complained and was offered complimentary meals to return. The service wasnt AS bad, but having to wait 20 minutes for a check! The manager delivered our check and didn't bother to ask if our experience was any better. I will never return. Topeka can do better

I have eaten at Carlos O'Kelly's many many times but tonight was the worst experience I have ever had. The ChimiChunga was hard to cut with a fork, hard to chew & had very little sauce on it. The service was slow and the place was empty so there is no excuse for the bad service. I even had to go find someone to take my money. No hostess, bar tender,waitress or bus boy in sight for at least 5 minutes. I could have walked out without paying. Whoever the manager of the Topeka,KS place is needs to re-train the staff.

Always like this place. Been going here over 20 years. Noticed chips and salsa very bland on many recent visits. Also, the farther away from the bar, like in the far corners, the worse the service gets. Always see management walking the bar, but never anywhere else. Guess its too long of a walk to ensure dining room customers get good service too.

The staff ignored us until it was time to collect our money for our bills,they were kinda assholestalking and being friendly to other tables but acting as if they didn't see or hear us trying to get their attention for help. And the food sucked. Pancho's is wayyyyyy better!

Had lunch here today and food wise it wasn't too bad. Waitress was a little slow in bringing drinks and taking plates but was very nice. The main problem today was the manager. The bus boy put the cleaning cloth for the tables directly onto the floor and then picked it up and wiped other tables down and cross contaminated. Was told that he's never done that before and they are just busy which they weren't too bad. Maybe short staffed but the excuses kept on. The bus boy is a little slow and a gifted child so he probably doesn't know. That is true, if so, but as a manager instead of owning up to it and going and explaining to the nice young, "gifted" boy as he said, he was just full of excuses. This young busboy didn't look retarded like he was trying to portray. Didn't like that. Gifted children are good, honest people and I believe he didn't realize, but it's up to a manager to show him.
Very disappointed in the manager today. Although nice as well, he has no business running a company if he puts the blame on everyone and so eloquently lies. Not good. I will not return for quite a while and I doubt it's ever again for lunch.

Service sucked, food sucked, waitress was rude (wanted to kick her teeth out) left NO TIP, will NEVER GO BACK!! Keep yoyr money and go to El Dorado on Crocoat least they have REAL MEXICAN FOOOD AND IT TASTES AWESOME and they are nice and professional.

I recently took a date here and haven't been to this location in a couple of years. The food is still very good, the service is still very good, and the prices are very moderate for the amount of food you get. The fried ice cream is a must have for dessert too.

What I got on my plate vs what I paid was very lackluster. Service was great but I did not go there to be social, I went to eat. After paying almost $30 I still walked away hungry and hit a drive thru on the way home. The Long Island Iced Teas were very weak and full of ice. If you do not drink it with in 5-10 mins your drink just becomes water. Topeka has better Mexican food options then this if you Google around.

Carlos O'Kelly's is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant to eat at in Topeka. I have been here numerous times, and each time is just as spectacular as the last. The wait time is relatively low, the service is great, the food is wonderful and the atmosphere of the restaurant is so lively.
I love how every time I come here there is always a new promotion that they are running to keep you coming back. This is one of the few places where they truly care about their customers and their experience.
