Carfagna's has a great selection of meats and Italian products and the absolute BEST ham in town for the holidays but
Today my wife and I visited the butcher shop. We are making burgers for my brother-in-law, who happens to be an executive chef at one of the best restaurants in Columbus, so we want to knock his socks off when he eats our burgers! I ordered 3 lbs of ground beef, which they happily obliged us with. I wanted a pound of ground brisket for the burgers, and the butcher said too much would be lost in the grinder. SO I offered to purchase the entire brisket if the butcher would grind it down for us and he still refused. So we left disappointed.
Fast forward 30 minutes. We went to Earth Fare on Gemini in hopes of getting the brisket we needed to mix with our ground beef for the perfect burger and not only did they have brisket on-hand for sale by the pound, but offered to grind a pound and give it to us for free because it was too fatty to sell. Fat? Burger? Sign us up! We ended up leaving with 3 lbs of ground brisket for $8.
When we left Earth Fare I called Carfagna's to tell the manager about our experience at their store and our experience at Earth Fare, and the manager I spoke to, PETE, HUNG UP ON ME! We won't be returning to Carfagna's any time soon. We drop $100's of dollars a month at local butcher shops. Sorry Carfagna's, we'll see you at thanksgiving for our ham but you have lost our business otherwise!
Update: called to see if the holiday hams were available, nice enough lady answered the phone and said they weren’t in. I asked her when they would be and she asked Pete the manager and I heard him in the background say in an angry manner “They’ll be here when they get here”. Pete is a miserable person and it’s obvious that the only thing he hates worse than customer service is his own life. This makes my heart happy.
BTW, found a better ham at Fresh Thyme on Polaris!
Treated with respect and courtesy at the butcher counter. Very short trip even though it's the holiday season. Also the cashier chatted up my granddaughter. Ice cream shop
This place has the best meat selection in Columbus. They get prize cattle and butcher them to perfection. Their chicken and fish are top notch as well. They have a wide range of Italian and European products. However, I've had bad luck with their prepared products. I find their sauces bitter and the ready to go pastas overcooked. Well worth a visit, just not for their branded products.
If you are looking for an amazing authentic meat market, where the sausage is ground daily, this place is the best! Family owned and operated by loving people who care about what they do. Homemade local baked goods, farm fresh fruits and veggies, a great wine shop and all the Italian goodies for every season. Customers chat while waiting for their number to be called, always fully staffed and eager to serve. I also frequent their cateringdelicious!
Good meat selection and sauces. Their "fresh" pasta in the freezer is not great. For an Italian store, I wish they also had some better pasta. They didn't have any basil when I was there. I really like their vodka sauce.
Good cleaved meats. Butcher's are a dying breed. This is the truth in Columbus. They also have a restaurant up 71N that is exceptional. Go here!
This is where I go for all my meat and wine needs. The steaks and the chicken are always of the freshest quality and wonderful for my family. They have hard to find wines and unusual items can be found here that can hardly be found anywhere else.

Great meats at great prices. You can see butcher shop in back. Homemade Italian pasta n awesome pasta sauces. They have their own Italian sausage and Hugh selection of wine and cheeses.
Customer service is EXCELLENT! The prepared foods are delicious and their meat is best in Columbus.
Wonderful place all around. Good meat, great price better than corporation stores, family owned.. Great Meats, great service, the best I mean the best brats an sausage around. That is a must try. once # pulled they stay with you all the way through. Never rushed. Good people, drive from Grove city 2 times a month and stock up on everything we need from here.
I can truly taste a significant difference between grocery meat and Carfagna's. And their spaghetti sauce (I buy the original) is worth every penny. My first trip to Carfagna's was I was a teenager and would go with my mother. That was in 1976. Customer for life!
One of my favorite places to buy my meat and Italian items!
They have great deals on all sorts of meats! They will cut and pack anything you want. I always make sure to get the deal on whole NY strip loins. They also have great home made sausage and brats. They also have a great deal on boneless chicken breast that they can even have with different marinades! They also have some pre-made items that you can get and make an easy mean!
