They have a great selection of seafood, the staff and owners are very nice and helpful, the prices are very reasonable, I highly recommend Captain Whites as your goto seafood place.

Staff was very friendly! Gumbo was very tasty. They seasoned the shrimp with Old Bay when the shells were still on, so by the time I removed the shells, I had also removed all the seasoning and ended up eating cold, bland, albeit still good, shrimp.

Awesome place to get well priced seafood. All the seafood I saw and ate was fresh. They will cook it on site free of charge. The eating are is a little dirty. I bought a bottle of water to wash my hands. There's alot of construction going on, so it looks as if the area will be cleaned up soon.

That's a nice place to visit if you want to by some raw fish. You can also try out some cooked stuff on the sot, though there's nowhere to sit. The place is not really easy to access on foot.

Once you navigate the atrocious parking situation you are in for a treat! It doesn't get much more fresh or authentic than this. The vibe is fun and unapologetic as a charming cast of carnival barkers-meets-cast of extras from Pirates of the Caribbean compete for your business. Exactly what you would expect from an open air fish market.
You can partake of the wide selection of fresh catches if you are shopping (and yes, they will clean your fish for an additional charge). Or, you can come to eat and treat yourself to the freshest shrimp, oysters, clams, crabs and a selection of homemade seafood soups.
We took our fresh feast to the pier where you can board a tied off covered barge and stood at bar-style counters with views of the Potomic river while we ate.
A fun and creative daytime date idea for anyone with a pallet for fresh seafood.
    They do take credit cards.

All cooked food is breaded and fried. I recommend to buy crabs or shrimps and fry without bread cover. Place Is dirty and has a strong rotten fish smell.

    Seafood is good.

Our family reunion was in D.C and they had Captain White's to do our crab broil!!! Off the hook, seasoned just right. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these crabs. Trying to see now if I can have some shipped. Thank you so much.

Love it but the guy who steams the food was on one today. Would have gotten 5 stars.

Horrible experience for my family and I. We typically drive over to the Maryland Eastern Shore when we want crabs, however given the fact that it was Memorial Day, we anticipated that there would be too much traffic coming back from Ocean City, so we decided to stay local and give Captain White's a try instead . There is absolutely no organization in terms of lines, and I waited almost 45 minutes just to put in my order. Then I had to stand in line and wait another 1 and a half hours for the crabs and shrimp to be steamed. They literally had one guy, who was working extremely hard, by himself, on Memorial, handling the entire crowd. For a business that has been around for this long, they could have planned this day better and had more staff assisting with this. It literally ruined our Memorial Day. In the almost 3 hours we spent just picking up Crabs, we could have driven to the MD Eastern Shore, had dinner, watched the sunset, and driven back home, even with the beach traffic. By the time we sat down to eat, the kids had to go to bed because of school the next day. This is simply a management issue. Horrible experience for a first and last time customer. Btw, I rarely post reviews of companies and there service, but Captain White's management and owner earned this one star. There was plenty of staff on hand to make the lones go quicker of it was managed correctly. I am posting this in hopes that this doesn't happen to another family.

Being from Rhode Island, seafood must be fresh. This is a delightful place to eat and be able to take home fresh seafood to cook. Wonderful experience for the whole family.

Wholesale fish market that will cook fresh seafood on the spot. Can be crowded and dirty.
Overall I had a great experience eating freshly steamed crab legs on their dock.
Would recommend as a non-touristy experience.
