This darn place is not even open. I drive an HR in a half in traffic and pull up to what looks like an abandoned rat infested dump. We we're so hungry our stomachs started to eat themselves and the dragons were coming out of the dungeons. We found another place a bit far away but it was great.

This was my favorite place but, it was sold. The food use to be great. The last time I was there the place was half empty and the food tasted different. So sad

I went in to buy fish from their market. The selection was quite good. HOWEVER, while I was waiting on them to cut my conch, the owner insisted I try the conch salad. I told him I was particular and somewhat of a harsh critic, but he kept saying it was the best in town! Now, conch salad is pretty hard to F up well they did. It was TERRIBLE. If this is any indication of their other food, I would not recommend this place.

Note to owner: please don't tell me to see the other reviews. I have and they concur.

So my wife and I were in Miami for the weekend and went to Captain Jim's for lunch. We entered and requested to sit 2 tables away from everybody else so we could have a private conversation when the main waitress screamed at both of us in front of about 15 customers - "you can't sit over there, everybody has to sit right here because I'm the only waitress". Mind you, this is the same lady who was smoking a cigarette and yelling on the phone out front when we pulled up. After she embarrassed us and yelled at us we sat at a wobbly table and tried to decide if we should leave or stay after she talked to us in this manner. We were about to spend $50-$75 on a good seafood lunch and this was our first time at this establishment. After discussing things with my wife, we decided to go somewhere where they valued us as customers. This place does not care about you as a customer or a person. We walked out and drove to Crab Brothers about 5 miles away and we got the best service, the best seafood and no attitude. As a customer who is about to spend money in a restaurant you have to ask yourself, is the person with the bad attitude cooking or bringing my food? No thanks! We don't want any part of that. Screw this restaurant and the lady with the bad attitude! To the little guy who tried to fix our wobbly table, it's not your fault bro, it's that mean old lady with the bad attitude. Y'all check out Crab Brothers for some real Seafood with and Island twist!

I was disappointed at first. I wanted crab legs and they didn't have any. Only had key lime pie because oven not working. Fine for me but no dessert my husband liked. ALTHOUGH my husband enjoyed blackened snapper and I had shrimp and grits. Even if you don't like grits ask for a sample of these. I hate grits but these ain't no ordinary gritslol. They were actually good. So even though I didn't get what I originally went for, what I had was awesome!

First time this Captain Jim's after searching for seafood in South Florida (Orlando to Miami I was willing to drive for a one of a kind experience). Reviews of this place weren't lying. The store front and interior aren't flashy but the food more than makes up for it. The staff is very friendly, the food delicious and their own adding to classic dishes was very well done. We will be back when Stone Crab come in season. Certainly worth the drive and highly recommended

Everything is fresh and made in house. They make their own Caesar dressing, potato chips, and the fish is from their own boats in Key Largo. Captain Jim Hanson is also a seafood distributer, but saves some for his own restaurant. It's fresh seafood prices, so about $20 a meal, but it's a comfortable atmosphere and it doesn't feel like too much for the quality.

REAL & FRESH SEAFOOD PRICED ACCORDINGLY/Market price!!!Key West style. I am a long time customer. This is thee BEST option in the area. I choose these guys over those Miami River resturants in downtown 🐸☕ anyday!!! I'm itching to try the smoked salmon, they always sell out. Decent beer and wine selection.
Menu favs: shrimp n grits, crab cakes, fried oysters, crab salad, and the really nice dark skinned guy who is always so patient and nice to me.
Oh! This is a great market to get your mains for your at home dish creations too. Parking in front and rear. There is a back door entrance as well

The service is always supreme. The food is simply delish. The freshest seafood I have ever had. I'm now a big fan of their blackened seafood dishes. I've never been disappointed here.
