High price but you certainly get what you pay for. I called for a tow on a busy day and they came within 2 hours. I recommend this business for towing and repair services
I would give a 1/2 star if I could. If you are a student and have to pay for yourself, don't go here unless your parents are paying for everything. With that said, I knew what was wrong with my car. I was a level A technician for Hyundai and Toyota for years before I decided to further my education and went back to school. But because I look like I just got out of high school, (I am almost 30 and I look 19) the service writer seemed to brush me off thinking I knew nothing about cars. Well I needed a state inspection, I knew what was wrong with my car, I only wanted what I mentioned, and they tried to sell me a bunch of work that was not needed, cause there was nothing wrong. Never went back.
Got my cared towed by this Campus Automotive after I called AAA because smoke was coming out of the hood of my car. They seemed like nice honest peopleuntil I looked them up on google and read the reviews. Everything they said on here came true. Campus Automotive charged a $110 fee just to LOOK at my car. They send you a link with the diagnosis which is does not tell you much of whats actually going on or why the repairs are needed. They were going to charge $1400 for repairs AND they didn´t even guarantee that the problem would be fixed after that. They said there may be internal problems, so even after $1400 the car STILL might not be fixed. I towed my car to another mechanic in the area and they fixed my car for a little lover $500 and its running great now. Even with the ridiculous $110 fee I had to pay for them to LOOK at my car and the $60 I paid to tow my car somewhere else it was cheaper than letting these crooks touch my car. DO NOT COME HERE.
Let me start by saying one of my kids is a student at Virginia Tech and has a later model car he uses to drive back and forth to home during breaks. I am not very familiar with the Blacksburg area so when we had our first car problem I went to Yelp to find a place with good ratings. Campus Automotive took care of my car the first time around and I thought they were fair and helped me get my student back on the road.
Car emergencies are not so bad when you have really good people to help and I have found Campus Automotive to be just those people. Most recently (Yesterday) my student called and reported the car steering wheel was locked and he could not turn the key. I had the car towed to the shop for repair. Anthony at Campus Automotive quickly diagnosed the car and made the repair without charging me the diagnostic fee because it was such a simple fix. When parents are stressing about the next student emergency or next school bill to pay, its nice to have some honest guys/gals at this shop to help with car repairs.
I'm glad I know where to go for great service for my car, Thanks again Campus Auto and Anthony! I hope we won't be back but with 2 more years at Tech, we will probably see you again! Thanks!
It's been some days I was hearing a roaring sound in my front wheel. I took my car to them and they told me that the problem is with the axle. They changed the axle. I picked up the car and I was still hearing the noise. I took it to them again and they checked it and told me that there was also a big problem with the wheel bearings and hubs. They estimated the costs to be 700$ to fix the issue, but they fixed it for me without any charge.
They have great customer support services. Anthony was very helpful. The general manager was a very reasonable person and managed the issues very well. I will definitely take my car again to them for maintenance, since they take responsibility for what they do.
Highly recommended! I was graciously helped by Anthony and Jessica, both of whom were extremely pleasant and cheerful. If you are looking for a positive car repair experience- I wouldn't hesitate to make an appointment!
Matt, Andy & Johnny are the very best in the area at what they do. I cannot imagine having a better team looking after your automotive needs. I have taken my vehicle there a few times and I am always pleased with their outstanding service.
Very helpful!! Definitely recommend and ask for Andy, he helped me out with the best intentions! They will give you a ride to school and try their best to accommodate your needs! Definitely going back if my car ever gets messed up again!
I was traveling from PA to AZ last week and 2 hours into the trip, our air conditioning ceased to function at all. I called when we arrived in Virginia and many auto dealers and repair garages wouldn't make time for us. Campus brought us right in and worked us into their busy schedule. Our compressor was shot and unfortunately couldn't be fixed in a timely fashion. Campus assured us the vehicle was safe to drive and charged is nothing for the diagnostic evaluation. Everyone was super nice, honest, attentive and caring. They helped make an uncomfortable trip bearable. I highly recommend Campus Auto for anyone needing service and repair. Thanks Campus!
Excellent. I called on a Saturday and they fit me in the schedule as I was traveling for graduation. They went above and beyond, even having parts on standby in the event of such a need. Honest and fair.
Came here about a week ago with weird shaking in my car. They were not only able to identify the cause of shaking without charge, but they even switched out the tire for free (since I already had an extra tire on hand). Were super nice and helpful! 10/10 would recommend.
Easily one of the worst auto shops I've ever been to, I wish that I could give lower than one star. They tried to upcharge me 100% on spark plugs, and no, that did not include labor. Also, I went in to get my driver side window fixed and when it came out the lock on the driver side was broken. What did they do to fix this? They forced it to unlock and then proceeded to tell me to call them in the morning so they could quote me a price to fix the door THAT THEY BROKE. They said it was an electrical issue and that it was just a "coincidence." This place is the worst place you could ever get your car worked on. The only upside is the people who run the front desk are nice people. Otherwise I would have blown up when I was told that I have to pay to have them fix my car for SOMETHING THEY BROKE. Anyway, never go here, I would rather not have a car than have them charge me $1,000 for routine fixes. Way to scam college kids with your absurd prices and BS towing.
I have been in search of a permanent repair shop that I could trust. I believe in preventative maintenance to make sure I get the most from my vehicles. During a recent oil change, it was recommended that I get a complete tune-up. I asked for a quote and was given a quote of almost $1,300.00 for a Honda Fit. I know what damage can be done by not doing this and decided I would put it on the radar to get it done. $1,300.00 is cheap compared to replacing the catalytic converters. A few days later, I had my wife's vehicle at the Honda dealership doing some warranty work and oil change and offhandedly asked what they charge for a tune-up? $725.00. I asked the service representative to repeat himself and he said the same thing AND I get serviced by Honda trained technicians. I am a bit old fashioned, I prefer to establish a relationship with a business and visit them exclusively. What a shame that Campus Automotive, whom I had always thought treated me right, would do something like this. Very displeased.
We were just in town for a day before heading north to see family for the holidays when we discovered a loose lug nut on a wheel. The first two mechanics we tried were chock full but a quick call to Campus put us at ease - they were willing to see us right away! We waited while they checked the lugs in the comfortable and clean waiting room. Two women from the office even came out to say hello to our dog. In less than an hour, they told us that the lugs were all right and we were ready to go. When we asked how much the service would be, they told us it was free of charge! Everything about our experience was great. If we lived nearby, we would certainly be back for regular maintenance of our vehicle. Thank you, Campus Automotive!
