We ordered a 2017 Thor challenger 37tb last
Fall didn't get it till February took it to Florida had to stop in Ocala Florida camping world to get the front end fixed it was about to fall off
It's been in and out of shop multiple times don't buy washer and dryer combo they work for a while then quits. They don't know how to fix them but they sell them. I took it in the shop kept it for two weeks told them the furnace was not working they said it work fine
We're down here in Jacksonville Florida and it's NOT working and they won't answer my calls or emails
Products over priced. Do not match their own online prices. Service department does not tell you it may take several weeks to get approval for fixing manufacturing defects & you can keep & use your camper while waiting. They also prefer text messages vs phone calls.
Five stars for the new service dept at the Camping World in Richmond Indiana. They have a new service manager, he is very professional, this young man takes his job seriously. Our camper was there 4 weeks, for multiple repairs from a previous insurance claim. Some of the repairs were due to there tearing something up while they had are camper, or they just didn't fix it the first time. The old service manager would not return calls, they had our camper 6 months, it was a nightmare. This time the new manager was awesome. He called us, or e-mailed us with the progress of the repairs. All work was completed, and we are very pleased with the new service dept. It was done in a timely fashion, and would have been sooner, they had to order parts. I will go back if I need work again. I on the other hand would not buy a camper there. They are higher than other places, and will insult you with what they offer you for your trade in. You Can Walk IN Sales And They Won't Even Ask If You Need help. I miss the old Tom Raper, we bought several campers from them, but there service dept. was horrible. To sum up, service is great, but don't I would not buy there.
Had an excellent experience at Camping World in Richmond. Purchased a 2018 Starcraft and couldn't be happier with the whole experience other than that we had skipped lunch and we were STARVING by the time we finished up :-). Our Salesman Wade was courteous, professional, and went the extra mile to insure that we were taken care of even though he was on vacation the day we picked up our new camper. Krista in finance was filling in from the Fairfield location and was excellent to work with as well. No complaints! We love our new camper and Camping World did just fine by us.
Furious with this company right now! My husband and I put down 20% on our RV, yet they claim they 'possibly' didn't get it! The amount is even on all of our signed paperwork. They wouldn't begin anything until we literally had it to put down. How does a corporation of such mishandle such a large amount of money? We are providing everything we can to prove to them yet I'm beside myself we are still in this situation with such a respected company.
We just left CAMPING WORLD in Richmond, IN (4 hrs away from our home) after spending a couple hours there, giving ourselves a guided tour, due to NONE of the multiple staff members asking us if we needed assistance or if we had questions. Like I saidthere were plenty of staff standing around talking to each in the showroom, perhaps they had fall allergies and could not come outside.which all we really needed them for was to help us with the prices of the fifth wheels (since none were marked)this is the first dealership that we have been to the trailers did not have the prices insideso, if the staff didn't want to help customers, at least they could put prices and specs in the trailers. Can I rate this less than one star? Off to Walnut Ridge with hopefully better luck.
They are great they treated us like family from the beginning of visit. They have electrical hookups for people traveling from point to point if you bought your camper from a camping world
Beware of Camping World, do no buy from here!!! I purchased a unit 6 months ago and I already had it in the shop with no help from Camping World. They asked that I contact the manufacturer and said once the title is in my name there is nothing they can do.. Do not buy the extended warranty either its worthless with tons of loop holes. 6 Months in and I am making an insurance claim for a $5000 fix. Stay away from this company, they don't answer their phones and walk the other way when you have an issue. Way better places to purchase a camper!! Thanks for nothing Wade!!!
Very DISSATISFIED with Camping World of Richmond. July1, this year wanted to purchase a 2004 Bounder. Was denied due to certain circumstances in cost On Sat July 22, Camping World had Big Blowout Sale Promotion. We found a very nice travel trailer that we liked , We were trading in two Units, 1998 and 2013 Dutchman as our down payment. The 1998 Dutchman we paid $5800 to Camping World for repairs. The trade-in value was 13,000 as our down payment. We were told by Salesman AND assured by Loan Agent that this purchase would not require another Credit Check because of time frame from last inquire. Loan Agent agreed ONLY to find we had been deceived again. We now have 6 hard inquires on our Credit, which lowers our credit score dramatically. We contacted Camping World and they both DENIED doing it! We have credit letters as proof!!! We have been deceived AGAIN.. Customers BEWARE Read comments before shopping.
Great place to buy all your camping necessities!
Quoted us a pretty big payment for a purchase, decided against it. Conveniently dropped the price of the payment by $100 dollars after I said I wasn't interested, seems like a common thing for them to do.
First off I sent a bid in on a pop-up camper on Friday evening and was told that a salesman would contact me the next morning. Waited and waited but no one called till 10,30 Saturday morning and the salesman (wade stinson) told me he would call me back in 30 minutes. 2 hours later I called back to them was hung up on even after asking to speak to management. Then was finally told the camper had a pending offer. Nobody had the decency to call me to see if i wanted to up my bid. And manager Randy has not explained where the break down in communication was. Topical issues with salesmen go after the most money. I suggest you all go someplace else.
We would not recommend the service department of Camping World in Richmond, Indiana. We purchased a Thor Four Winds RV there in July 2016. We are happy with the RV now that all of the problems that Camping World did not fix, or actually created themselves, have been fixed by competent technicians, but it has taken us 5 months to get all of the problems corrected. The shower door that we asked Camping World - Richmond to install, to replace the original shower curtain, was installed upside down and the frame fell apart when we drove over the first bumpy road. It cost us $200 to have it properly reinstalled by another RV dealership. More importantly, the tire valve extensions that we purchased and had installed at Camping World - Richmond (so that we could more easily check the tire pressure on the inside tires of the rear dual tires) were apparently not installed properly, weren't the right size or weren't tightened enough, because by the time we took the RV to another dealer to have an oil change, both of the inside dual tires were flat! We had to pay to have new tire valve extenders properly installed. We also asked the other RV dealership to try to determine why two of the marker lights on the front of the RV did not light up when the headlights were on. They discovered that the wires that should have been connected to those lights had never been connected at the factory. In our opinion, Camping World - Richmond should have checked to determine whether or not all of the lights on the vehicle worked before selling it. Can you imagine a reputable car dealer selling a brand new car with a light that did not work? In addition to all of these problems that Camping World - Richmond created, or did not fix, we found their level of customer service to be virtually non-existent. When we phoned to ask if the shower door that we wanted installed had arrived, the service advisor (who was supposed to be assisting us) was never at her desk and never returned our calls. After calling repeatedly, I finally talked to someone in the parts department and learned that the shower door hadn't even been ordered yet! We had to wait nearly three weeks, after more un-returned phone calls, before I was able to catch the service advisor at her desk and learn that the door had been at the dealership for more than a week! If I hadn't called repeatedly, we would probably still be waiting for Camping World to call us about having the shower door installed! If the service department at Camping World - Richmond can't even install tire valve extensions or shower doors properly, I certainly wouldn't trust them to work on an RV engine or generator or any complex electrical component in my RV!
We are anticipating purchasing a Class C and are visiting several dealerships to see what is available. At Camping World our salesman, Jordan, was patient and listened to what we wanted. He showed us several Class C's that met most of our expectations. No high pressure. He was informative and let us take the Class C of our choice for a drive. We didn't purchase an RV today but will keep in touch with Jordan as our search continues.
