Day 182. Still have not escaped the basement of the school. Someone else has taken over my identity. Food is running out. There is a rabid squirrel that is trapped down here, so I'm hiding from it right now. I will keep banging on the doors, and see if anyone hears me.

Went to high school there. Great if you're white. If not, expect a rough time. Out of two black students that enrolled in a year, one was bullied enough not to return the next.

Most of the teachers are very good. The principal is a fool. Workers often heavily smoke on the south side of the building by the dumpsters with a blind eye. The superintendent and others just turn a blind eye to these ILLEGAL (yes, there is a LAW on the books) actions. Same holds true at the stadium, where if smoking wasn't going on by the groundskeepers, then the deterioration of the mortar for years makes the place look unsafe. The gutters on the school have been full for years and years, with water pouring out of them on any rainy day.
Many of the children who go to the school, especially those from the Harman side, seem to think they are better than anyone else and entitled to everything. It is a mirror reflection of their parents. If you weren't born and raised in Oakwood, you are pretty much an outcast, which is unfortunate. Military families - well, they are usually snubbed. The principal seems to care less, as long as he keeps his cushy little job.
The athletic department is just a travesty. I feel for any child going to this school district and wants to compete in athletics, because they will never get to be what they want. Many of the coaches are just laughable. My child had a coach that wanted NO INPUT to problems between players whatsoever! Most players are on teams just to be in a club, not a competitive sport.
Overall, this school is full of itself, and is only great because it relies on self-aggrandizing by its principal and a PTO that is run by women with nothing better to do than be pretty.
Again, there are some really great teachers!

It was a good school, but it needs more black people. I swear I can count the number of blacks in my grade with just one hand.
