Had a great time with friends.
Place was very clean.
Restrooms were well maintained.
Only complaint was the price of fire wood!
We will go back.
We are getting ready to come back again for our third trip to this location! Usually we make this a "adult only" trip but this time around we are bringing our two daughters. Everyone from the other campers, the permanent stayers to the owners have always been amazing and more than accommodating. The tent sites are gorgeous and very clean! We can't wait to come back.
This place is absolutely amazing. Tent sites right on the lake. Family owned business and very nice people. They do a great job of screening their visitors to try to keep it a family friendly atmosphere.
My boyfriend & I decided to camp here after a friends wedding on Saturday. We wanted a small mom & pop campground in this case (brothers& sisters) so we looked up on google decided on this one. We called them & they had 3 avalible spots & got us in! The owner Tony & his wife were so personable they greeted us at the gate, took us back to our site & made sure we were all good. In the morning they came around asked how our night was & gathered our trash! Our campsite had a short path down to the lake but was also isolated from other campsites. I was actually quite pleased with the hospitality. We can't wait to bring the kids back next weekend 💚
Had an amazing weekend here! Heard of the place because a friend of mine has a camper spot here and knew it was a gated kind of community for camping and decided to give it a try. Beautiful and spacious campsites, ours of which was right by the lake, and beautiful setting. Gated entry keeps anyone that shouldn't be there out and keeps your things safe so you don't have to worry about stashing all of your things somewhere before you leave. Very friendly and welcoming staff who make sure you are happy and have everything you need! My girlfriend and I will definitely be making another visit here!
We've camped there 2 times and really enjoyed it. The camping spaces are nice with a great view of the lake. The owner (Lou) and his wife are very nice and helpful - he comes around in his golf cart to pick up garbage and see if we need anything, like firewood which he provided for us. We'll go back again next year.
First off, this is less of a campground and more of a mobile home park. There are 3 good sites that overlook the water at the very back of the campground if you can get them and get there. Apparently, the owner's great-grandmother once heard about a hit and run and decided they should have a strict 2 mph speed limit. Two! Some cars can't even idle that slowly. And if you were to go 3, the owner will come up to your car and scold you for speeding. The irony and absurdity that she can slowly walk up to your car and tell you that you're going too fast is somehow lost on her. But as my friend put it, she's a helicopter mom. She constantly drives around, snooping on people, making rude comments, and checking that you didn't bring your own wood so she can charge $5 for 3 sticks. There are so many better places to stay.
Stayed for a weekend, and I wouldn't exactly say I was thrilled or would do it again. The campsite itself was fine, minus being surrounded by a handful of pine trees. Everything was covered in sap when we left. What bother me, and the group I was with, was the owner (I am assuming was the owner, or landlord). He made us feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. They have a strict 2 mph policy on their roads, I hit 5mph trying to make it up a hill and he felt the needed to scold me. He would drive around on his golf cart to see what everyone was doing. I am sure he was skeptical of my group, we were between 23-25 years old, but we were more than respectable to his property. It was very easy to tell he wasn't happy with us staying there. Camping is supposed to be fun and he made it very difficult for my group and myself to relax and enjoy our weekend.
Terrible experience. It's not even a camp site. It's a trailer park. Old, run down. And the owners were not very friendly. Would not recommend. So many other better places to go camp in the area who I'd much rather give my money to, rather than have my deposit stolen from me.
Worst camping experience. Very rude and unfriendly people. We pulled in and tried to register our vehicle they opened the gate to let us in and there was no place actually marked to register. We looked around for a minute and they chased us down telling us we were trespassing. We explained they we had a reservation and already paid and just didn't know where to go. They were condescending and rude to us. Finally after making us pull back to the road to register us and continuing to be rude we said we just wanted a refund and to go somewhere else. They said "good luck" and agreed to a refund. Then after they refused to give us the refund even though we didn't stay there. We called back and even came back to the campground and they hung up on us and refused to discuss our refund with us. It was clear they didn't want us there. Seemed like a scam to me. There are plenty of other amazing campgrounds with very friendly staff! Hocking hills is too beautiful to let your camping experience ruin it for you. The next campground said they always have issues with these people. Do yourself and everyone else a favor and take your business elsewhere.
