I truly do not understand what all the fuss is about this place. My boyfriend and I have been there twice now, and have had the same opinion both times. The food is good, but not amazing. I don’t like a huge amount of cold salad (with large pieces of fruit that don’t seem to belong) getting mixed in with my warm main course. The blackboard instead of menus is pretentious. The margarita we had was exceptional, but all in all, our meals were not worth the crazy amount of money we spent. There are way better and more authentic Mexican options all over town.

The food was good but pricey. The place was clean and the staff were very freindly. They had a combination plate of three individual meals they serve which we ordered. They do have specials. Unless you knew it was there you probably wouldn't find it. They can accommodate large parties.

Perfect first meal for folks who are brand new to Tucson. Great for tourists to have a memorable last meal in Tucson before they head home. Perfect for tourists from Mexico who are feeling homesick. Easy to order: Say, I will have whatever is special today with medium heat (or mild heat or high heat). Beer, Wine, Bar. Desserts!

My boyfriend and I went there last month for a date. The inside was stunning and the ambience was very nice. The food, so so. We ordered the vegan, gluten-free plate. They catered very well to my dietary needs. The plating was for sure beautiful and the beans tasted just like mom's homemade but the main dish was a little heavy on the oil and too many raw veggies that didn't quite fit with the dish.

I wish I could give more stars! This place is truly phenomenal. The chef greeted us personally and welcomed us in. everyone working there was very gracious and knowledgeable and professional. The food was beautiful, delicious and innovative. Can't wait to go back!

I can't think of a place that I have had a better meal. I always let the chef pick my meal for me and I have never been disappointed. One of my favorite places to take someone that is visiting from out of town.

Hands down my favorite restaurant in Tucson, and I have lived here for 24 years. It's a very intimate vibe inside and perfect for extra special dates. Amazing food and good drinks.

This is the fanciest Mexican restaurant I have ever been to visit. Poca Cosa was an experience. Truly inspiring. The mezcal margarita was exceptional and the chocolate cake is one of the best tasting foods.
The molé was also super good. I may need to order a meal and eat it over the course of a day just to appreciate every bite.response / report this review -

We went here yesterday for my birthday celebration. I must say that it exceeded my expectations. The service was great, the menu and margaritas were superb. The service was fabulous and the owner even came to our table and made sure I got my birthday flan. I will definitely go back.

This place has the best Mexican food in tuscon hands down. As a Mexican myself, everything is made with quality and care. The rice and beans in particular is made the exact way that my mom made; I have never encountered a place that has served them this way. The best food is the Plato Poca Cosa, and it is the only food that I will ever eat with meat. I call myself as "mostly vegetarian" because this place has such good food that I cannot resist eating here. The price as well more than justifies the costs, especially at lunch time and the decor has a nice black and white theme with wonderful gold accents.

The ambience is impressive, but the quality of the protein is severely lacking -- not tender in the least, and also inconsistent texture. This is then compounded with no marinade or flavor cooked in -- not slow-cooked as you would expect for these style dishes; the sauces are simply layered on top, almost as an afterthought. If you're a foodie, the lack of a cohesive dish will likely infuriate you.
I've been here twice with family over the course of ten years, and have been extremely underwhelmed with my entrees both times. I expected much more after such a nice initial presentation, but was disappointed. I agree with the other critical reviews, which you'll see share this common theme.response / report this review -

Amazing food, creatively crafted by an expert chef with a passion for feeding people well. The first time I went to Cafe Poca Cosa it became my favorite restaurant. I don't get many opportunities to go, so after a while I started wondering if my memory exaggerated. I recently returned and was completely reaffirmed!
I suggest getting the surprise platter (consisting of 3 dishes chosen by the culinary crew) for an exciting and rewarding experience.
There's also a surprise option for dessert, but I highly recommend requesting the chocolate mousse in the mix--smooth, rich, satisfyingly sweet without being overwhelming.
Beyond that, I've met the owner/creative genius chef at Little Cosa Cafe (she's generous with the hugs), and she is a marvelous woman who obviously had a big heart, and sincerely cares about her guests.response / report this review -

The most unique and delicious Mexican food you will ever enjoy! Menu changes twice daily (read from chalkboard and explained). Never too spicy, always flavorful. Margaritas hit the mark. Chocolate mousse is the perfect ending to a perfect dining experience. Susanna, the owner, is awesome, so very sweet. Very highly recommend!!

Awesome food an upscale place. I only give them a star less from perfect because the salad they served was more for presentation ad opposed to eating. Drinks are actually really well done and excellently priced. Will definitely come back.

This has always been one of my favorite restaurants in the world, but I haven't bee to Tucson for a while and I was hoping PC would still be memorableIt was beyond fantastic!!!
I'll rate Poca Cosa my favorite restaurant in the world, and my last great meals were at 3 Star Michelin restaurants in Paris.
From the warm hostess and waiter greetings, to the final taste of cinnamon flan, every step of my experience was perfect.
You know how you too often review a menu and really see nothing that exciting, so you go with the same pork-loin or pasta dish. Here, every dish seemed well thought out, and put me almost in a haze as the waiter described each. Seriously, i wanted every dish.
I was lucky to be able to meet and speak with the owner, and she was inviting, intelligent, and still energetic over her fine restaurant and the offerings.
Amazing food and service. I'll be visiting town more often!response / report this review
