Very good food. Very crowed & noisy. Not a place to go if your in a hurry. But would recommend.

Popeye omelette had lots of fresh spinach and bacon in it and it was delicious.
Irish omelette with corned beef was also great!
We are very picky on sausage gravy and hardly ever order anywhere cuz it usually taste like flour and water, but our waitress was nice enough to give us a sample and we couldn't believe how great the flavor was. So we got the side and it was delicious on top of the home fries hash browns and bicquits.

They accept NO substitutions and the food is okay but does not warrant that kind of approach. That is insane for a small cafe. I WILL make a substitution and be going to another cafe that does allow substitutions and I suggest that you do the same.

The definitive standard of Lake Orion breakfast.

The old cafe side opens extremely early and serves up an inexpensive but very good breakfast impressively quickly. Lunch is similar, where the quick service makes this place work easily for the time available for an office lunch. This is a great spot for a Sunday brunch, but be ready to either wait a few minutes or sit on the bar side. It's easy to get in for dinner, but don't take the open space as n indication that the food isn't good. Dinner offerings are good quality, inexpensive, and well-sized.

The bar side is the most reliable bar in town. They never deviate from their hours and wouldn't think to close early. In fact, if the power goes out, this will be the first place to re-open as long as it isn't after 9 pm. The kitchen operates until midnight every day.

I try to go to breakfast every Sunday with my girlfriend and I'm never disappointed. Friendly staff, good food with good prices. Sometimes it can get pretty busy in the morning but I've never had to wait over 30 minutes.

Awesome food and service! I love the ambiance. It's great to go with my parents who grew up in LO and remember the building before it was CJ's. I love the rich history.

Great food, service, and beer. However on the night I came they had live music that was WAY too loud for the tiny space. The band itself was fun but So loud , conversation was absolutely impossible

I've been going to this place for breakfast off and on for 18 years. Wonderful place to go and have never been disappointed. Great food and great service. Try the raspberry pancakes or the vegetable omelette.

Our last day in the area and we found a place for a great breakfast. Located in downtown Orion, built in the 1800s and the restaurant has been there for 30yrs. The staff was extremely friendly, it's clean and quaint.
We were seated immediately, the menu has a selection of choices for breakfast and lunch.
We chose an western omelet, home potatoes and an english muffin for me. All the ingredients were fresh, the omelet was stuffed and the potatoes were delicious.
He had biscuits and gravy, German potatoes and scrambled eggs with ham steak. The biscuits and gravy were soft and the gravy good, not southern but still good.
All in all we were extremely happy and would recommend this place to anyone!
