We have taken our beloved dogs to Bureau Valley Veterinary Service for several years. Recently, we had to make the difficult decision to put our 18 1/2 year old dog down. As painful as the decision was, the staff at he clinic not only guided us through the process, but were compassionate and loving through the whole process. We appreciate the guidance, care, and compassion that was shown to our family at this difficult time.

Our cat had a health emergency during the night and we called. The vet that met us at the clinic was patient and compassionate with us as we learned our family pet of 15 years had passed upon arriving. I had never been to this clinic before, and would be more than happy to take any of our future pets there again. Thank you again for your kindness😀

I just called the office so I could leave a voicemail in order to get a call back for tomorrow. Whoever you have answering the phone is rude and lacks complete customer service. I apologized stating I didn't realize they didn't have a answering service or a separate number for emergencies and that although yes it's an emergency (my dogs nose is bleeding and won't stop) I was calling for a quote since I've already been to one other place today. She told me to call back tomorrow and literally hung up on me. Needless to say I will not be calling back. As a business owner myself this woman would be fired for such behavior. As for how to you treat animals, I cannot comment but I hope it's better than how you treat people.

I've used bureau Valley since 2013. I've had good and bad encounters. They've been great with my dogs chronic ear infections, vaccines, and my cat. I've always had fantastic interactions with my dog too.

We have had several issues though. I called after hours last week bc I'm pretty sure my dog had a stroke. The lady who answered was very rude, she would ask a question and not listen to the answer. She even hung up when I was talking. I'll be sure to let them know at my next appointment.

In addition, I boarded my dog in August during the week. When I picked her up, she was covered in dried feces and smelled horribly. I asked what happened and they said she had several accidents. My dog has literally never had an accident since I rescued her 7 years ago. I asked how often they took her out and they said twice a day. She's 9 years old. That's not acceptable. What's worse is they didn't give her a bath before I picked her up. I had to put a dog, covered in feces, in my car with my 9 month old son. Her accidents soaked into her bed too and it had to be thrown out. I ended up spending more money on getting her groomed and replacing her bed than I spent on the boarding. When I called to talk to a manager, I asked they reimburse me for the bath. She refused, but she said she would credit my account. I asked how much and she said she didn't know. 🙄 I will never board there again and I have shared this story with many ppl who in turn have their own horror story or know someone who does.

With that said, the prices are the best in the area. It's fairly easy to get an appointment, although I've never seen the same vet twice, and it's always clean.

I will continue to use them for vet services unless I have an issue, but I will also continue telling everyone I know not to board there.

I just called to see if I could get an antibiotic for my father in laws dog. The woman who I spoke to was very short and rude with me. I was very polite and asked a simple question, I definitely didn't deserve the snippy comment and rude response that I received. I will not deal with this place again. Also the comments they've picked out from their reviews to display are very misleading and taken out of context. Two thumbs WAY down.

    WORST VET EVER!!!!!!!!!!!
Our 3 month old puppy jumped off the bed and fractured one front leg. It was minor break and should have healed quickly with a splint. THE LARGE ANIMAL DOCTOR who worked on our 2lb puppy did not apply the splint correctly causing the bones to move. Which then caused all the fur and skin to fall off down to the bone and tendons. Long story short, we immediately went to a new vet where we tried to save the arm for 3 months until we could no long afford to keep trying. And of coursethe BV took no responsibility, even though we have a picture showing proof the splint was put on wrong before we even left the office. I can't even begin to tell you all the horror stories I have heard since this has happened when people ask us what happened.
