I want to thank you all for the warmth and kindness you showed my family (especially my parents)in May when we had to say goodbye to our Pawpaw. Jamie and Amanda went over and beyond to make sure every detail in his VA service was handled with such grace. You gave my family comfort on such a sad day from the sweet words spoken to a gentle hug when my Mother was falling apart. Thank you all from the Hallfamily.
My dad worked at this funeral home for over 40 years and took pride in serving others throughout the community. We had to lay my dad to rest last week and all I can say is the staff at Brown McGehee Funeral Home did a phenomenal job.
During that last year we have made many changes here at Brown McGehee Funeral.. we have made improvements to the building on both the exterior and the interior. We have also made great strives into helping our families in any way we can!! Standing by them in there time of need, helping them have some closer about their loved one. Many changes have been made for the clergy cards as well as the prayer cards. We have upgraded our electronics to make things easier on making slide shows for our families.
To much to write. It was a horrible experience. Wrong date of birth printed on memory cards. Then when reprinted. They were crooked and some even had part of his face cut off. Had to constantly call to get death certificates printed. Once printed, they were put in the mail uncertified without a tracking number. Had the post office trying to find out what could have happened to them. Service was ended before scheduled time, because some family members were allowed to Start taking away flowers. They had no idea how to set up slide show for pictures. Finally after about an hour someone figured it out. That’s all I have to say about that. My son deserved better. This funeral home was Not picked out by me. Regrettably I agreed with another family member to keep the peace. Please research you funeral home choice. I live everyday Wishing I had.
My mother in law just passed and I am disgusted at how insensitive this place was. She had no burial insurance and we were told “By Louisiana law, we had 30 hours from the time she was pronounced deceased to come up with money to cremate her” or they had to do something with her body and it was their choice so they were going to Embalm her which is not what we agreed on as a family.. Which was on a Sunday and she passed at 6 in the morning. There weren’t even any banks open. It felt like we were talking to a car salesman. It was a complete nightmare! I will not recommend this place to anyone!!! The place is ran by sleezeballs! I get a funeral home has got to be paid. But to give us such little time to come up with that kind of money or threaten to embalm if we don’t have the money in time is insane!
