New ownership definitely made this place worse. They garnished a whiskey sour and an old fashioned with lime and lemon. Food was lackluster

Lackluster and overpriced BBQ. The staff is rude and refused to serve me (a 21 year old who forgot her wallet) when I was with my parents. Had to run home and grab it because my parents wanted to stay and watch the football game. Food is average at best- find better bbq somewhere else.

Terrible since it reopened. We went during a badger football game when literally everywhere in Madison was swamped, they weren't full when we got there but the place slowly filled up. Our service was awful. Drinks were coming out one at a time from the bar because they didn't have enough help, but it was made worse because our waitress would only take a single order at a time and would ignore the rest of the table. The food took so long to come out of the kitchen my girlfriend ended up asking to just take it to go. The waitress brought appetizers but no plates/silverware/napkins. My fried wings came with no sauces, the waitress didn't ask me if I wanted sauce until she brought the food, so I had to wait even longer for her to go get BBQ. I understand they were busy, but the waitstaff that night couldn't have handled half the number of people the place holds.

3 tables of 2 when we got here. Tables stay dirty until you get seated. Took 15 minutes to get out drinks and another 10 after for the actual server to come to our table. before server got here we looked at reviews and realized this is normal and food takes an hour when not packed. I believe it. Would only recommend if just having drinks at the bar.

This is not Brickhouse BBQ. It’s called “The Brickhouse”. New place after the original closed down.

It is terrible. 20-30+ minute wait for drinks. 60+ minute waits for food. Totally clueless staff. It’s at least mostly due to growing pains from just re-opening but it’s a joke right now.

After about 2 hrs our food showed up and I got to pull chicken bones out of my chicken sandwich.

Just really bad. And need to get rid of the old Brickhouse BBQ reviews. This is a totally different place.

This place was 5.5 stars for three years while I lived here. Came back recently and they got rid of the mustard based BBQ sauce and the vinegar based BBQ sauce. Now they only have sweet BBQ sauces! The sauce was the whole reason I came before. Probably won't be back now

We were taken advantage of. After not being able to order two entrees because they were out (catfish and shrimp), we decided upon the mac n cheese under the same entree list for $10. We ordered an appetizer for $7 and two sides because the menu stated that all entrees come with two sides. When the check came we were surprised to find that we were charged $2 for splitting a plate of mac n cheese and then $6 for the additional sides. Apparently, the mac n cheese does not come with sides despite being on the entree menu but we were never made aware of that fact. This means that our $10 mac n cheese became $18 without any warning. This was our third time coming in less than a week. I was planning on making this a regular spot but since I was treated like I was at a used car dealership I likely won't return.

This was truly an amazing experience from the bartender to the amazingly friendly staff and exceptional food. Gretchen, out bartender was the most gracious host I have ever had. Her one of a kind old fashioned cocktails were a slice of heaven. I highly recommend this place.

Food seemed to be tasteful. I ordered the brisket sandwich on Texas toast with fries. It was really good. Bathroom was clean and the booth was okay, not the cleanest. The waitress and staff were nice and courteous.

I love good BBQ but one of the main draws to this place to me is there rooftop while the weather is nice. I've gone there 2 times now and have been told that we could not use the rooftop because there was not enough staff. On one occasion we were flat out told we could not eat there because they were too busy. They said nothing about a wait or anything. Location is nice foods alright but there are no other positives.

The food was mediocre, brisket was dry. We were not under the impression that they were not taking red cards anymore until we got our bill. I spoke with the manager and she was very rude, hard a hard time keeping her cool while talking with me. On the red card app brickhouse BBQ is still listed. We went there to give it a try. We will not be returning as the customer service/people skills were terrible and the food being OK

Brickhouse is not what it used to be. As of late, the meats have been drier and less tender. Even the sauces have gotten worse. The menu has shrunk as well, I suppose to simplify their operation and focus more on bar revenue. The beer selection is quite good, and the food is at least decent, but those in search of Madison's best BBQ should look elsewhere.

We have been coming to Brickhouse every Tuesday since they started trivia around a year ago. It was great then. It has steadily grown in popularity since and the management has done nothing to accommodate the large number of people every week. Some weeks there will be one server and one bartender for the entire packed restaurant. They have an entire upstairs that they don't even utilize.
Despite these issues, the food is fairly good and the bartender and most of the servers are great. The exception is the purple haired server who is consistently very rude and condescending to everyone. She is concerned about the fire code which is fine, but her complete lack of hospitality is the issue here. After several members of my team were yelled at this week we will no longer be returning.
It's a shame, there are a lot of great things about Brickhouse. I hope they can work on accommodating the trivia goers, and regular patrons on Tuesdays and find more servers who know what customer service is.

Foremost, the food was excellent. But, everything else was odd. Parents and brothers were in town visiting this last weekend, I heard great reviews about this place so I recommend it to them, we sat down in a spot the waitress didn't like so we switched for her, then she spent a minute explaining to us what we can't do (we're cracking down on this and that, no red cards, we ID, etc, etc). Just awkward. After that it was better, she was courteous but like I said, just was sorta odd. 2 or 3 separate songs with the F word repeating were playing on her playlist and my folks are Baptist so it was cringe-worthy for all of us at the table. I asked for BBQ sauce on the side (watching sugar) and it wasn't (whatever it happens); 2 order sides were mixed up (also whatever it happens). We left and gave a good tip but I wouldn't bring anyone back here again unless we really needed some good BBQ. They do that very well.

This place is consistently terrible. I used to go here regularly for trivia, so I have more perspective than one visit. When the food is good, it's actually pretty good, but about 75% of the time, the food tastes and looks like it's been sitting out for a long time. It's stale/old and lukewarm. The service matches the food--I'm honestly not sure how a restaurant hires so many bad servers. There's maybe one or two that are usually on the ball, but the vast majority of the time, the servers are inattentive or outright rude. We've been left with all drinks empty, ignored, cursed at, told they can't split checks, denied posted drink specials (after ordering and drinking them, because the menu hasn't been updated yet?) and blatantly lied to. We only continued to go because of the convenient location but even that isn't enough to keep us anymore. I'd steer clear!
