Blackberry Farm is a living history museum where pioneer life is re-created through educational demonstrations and hands-on fun. Admission to Blackberry Farm includes unlimited rides on the train, hay wagon, pedal tractors, paddle boats, carousel and ponies.

As a local, I've been to Blackberry Farm many, many times. We go several times a year so I know this place extremely well. There are other reviews about the park in general so I'd like to focus on one of my favorite holiday events at Blackberry Farm - the Polar Express. We do this every year and my girls love it. This year you needed to purchase tickets in advance, which probably threw some long-time visitors for a curve. Luckily, we saw this change early enough to be able to buy tickets but our first choice of dates was unfortunately sold out.

There are several activities you can participate in at this special event. You can build a bird feeder, do some Christmas art projects and make reindeer food, listen to some Christmas stories in the schoolhouse and meet Santa (and in years past even Mrs. Claus).

Of course, the highlight of the visit is the Polar Express. They put lights on the train and have Christmas lights set up along the route along with holiday favorite cutouts like the Peanuts and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Dress warm for this - the wind chill does get somewhat intense.

Overall, we love this activity and go every year and will continue until our girls are no longer interested (and even then, maybe we'll still go).

We went for the pumpkin weekend. It was $7 to get in per person which was reasonable. Parking was free and all the rides were included. It was extra to get and decorate a pumpkin ($3). The concession stand was reasonable and everyone was very nice. My 2.5 and 4.5 year olds had a very enjoyable day!

Very nice place to entertain kids. Plenty of picnic tables to relax and enjoy a meal with the family. Saw some people fishing and they were catching some fish! Kids enjoyed the train and tractor rides.

Great fun for my young children! Unlimited access to all of the attractions once you pay to get in. My kids could go between the train ride and pony ride over and over again so this type of entrance fee is perfect.
The playground area is two stories and LOTS of fun. However, if you still need to watch your kids you'll have to be in with them. Luckily, there's enough space for adults to fit in most areas. The zip line is a favorite, but the line gets long.
We've been here before on the free days, and it is PACKED. Not worth it.
They close early, like 3:30, so make sure you're there around 10:30-11 for a full days worth of fun.
We packed our own lunches so I can't comment on the concession stand.

We have the season pass for the 2nd year in a row now. My boys are 5 and 3 and they LOVE this place! From riding a train, to a carousel, to pony rides, & a play ground, they have everything little boys need to wear off energy!

A very fun family friendly place. One entry fee and no nickel and diming once you're in, which is always appreciated. It's educational as well interactive and fun. The children enjoyed the blacksmith demo, as well as the wool making demo. The kids enjoyed the boat, train and tractor rides. There are many animals including chicken, goats, cows and llamas.

The people who work here are knowledgeable and passionate about the subject matter. The Weaver's Cabin is a personal favorite spot to visit; interesting and interactive for kids and adults alike. Almost all of the park is wheelchair accessible (except the back properties, Wagner House and the Log Cabin), and there are playgrounds, picnic areas, and a concessions stand (although if you want a substantial meal I would recommended packing your own food). Lots of cute farm animals!

Good place to take the little ones on a nice day. There is learning to be had here. Fun little train ride and a cool kids play area. There is an old town street that has some history of shops and buildings from Aurora's past. Pony rides and picnic areas too.

If you have kids younger than 8, it's great. After 8 years old, they start getting bored quickly. The place is fantastic. Well kept, neat, We have been going there for almost 30 years, first with our kids and then with the grand kids. The train is wonderful, the carousel is great, the pony rides fun (if your a kid) Just a very nice family facility.
