Such a nice facility. I've been here on multiple occasions, and it has always been very worthwhile. You learn a lot, and its a nice place to see animals with or without a tour. Not only that, but its so good for the animals who went through so much to be able to live out the rest of their days in such a rehabilitating environment.
This is a very unique place to visit lots of animals to see very informative staff very affordable it's better than a visit to the zoo you can get up close and personal, there is feeding tours and even over nights available with camping, lots of choices definitely a place to see
Absolutely loved this place. The animals all appear to be rescues and each one has an amazing story though some are heart breaking. The staff and volunteers are wonderful people. Being a few feet from the tigers, lions and bears at this place cannot be compared to going to the zoo. A must see for animal lovers.
You have to check this place out! Wonderful experience. well cared for exotic animals.
Went on a guided tour, then walked around on our own a bit after. Much better than a zoo. Very peaceful and quiet. Love that they have saved so many beautiful animals!!
Very impressed by this place. We took the first time your at 11:00 and was educated by each and every one of their animals. They care for these animals with such respect. They also expect all who visit to follow their rules to make sure their animal residents are not stressed out. Our tour guide was very nice and informative. We will return to this place in the future for sure. Want to see the live feedings. Thank you for your service to the animals. ❤
Beautiful animals and facilities! This place has really blossomed in the 15 years since I first visited, and they're doing great work! The staff were wonderful and so knowledgeable; we loved seeing the bobcats eat and the lioness running for some exercise. Such an up close and personal experience for a great price.
AMAZING! Animals are so well cared for, and have plenty of space. The tours are very informative and you can see the animals as close as needed. It stresses the issue of keeping exotic animals in homes. The Keepers and staff do a great job to keep it clean and make sure people and animals are enjoying themselves. Great for all ages and groups. Everyone should go!!
This is a great place to safely see big cats up close. The animals are treated well and the staff is wonderful.
Drove 5 hrs to see the place, and it was closed. Website hrs are different than actual hrs. How disappointing. Seen some workers inside the door. They just looked at us, and walked away.
Awesome Awesome experience. They do such great things for these animals! Definitely recommend taking the tour!
This is a place you will never forget.. Our Tour Guide was so knowledgeable on every animal that calls this home. Her love and compassion is so evident in the way she talks about the personal stories of each animal and how they found refuge here. I could tell that the tour guides and the staff have a personal relationship with each individual animal. My eyes were opened to the need of places like this. A big "Thank You" to the entire staff and volunteers that minister to these precious animals on a daily basis. This is a must see in Indiana. A great learning experience.
My family and I participated in the 3 pm weekday guided tour and were amazed at the care and effort that Black Pines put into caring for these rescued animals. The cages and animals are clean and the staff obviously cares for each one of them. It is great to know that animals in need have a place that they can be welcomed and cared for so lovingly.
The tour was informative and the staff made every effort to allow us to see every animal, including returning to some in closures at a later time for a second chance to see them. We saw no fewer than 12 big cats (lions and tigers) and multiple other exotic animals. There were multiple bears, wolves, foxes, monkeys, and small cats to name a few.
I would gladly return and knowing the 10 dollar tour fee will be used to feed these rescued animals is well worth the cost. Some of the appalling conditions that these animals have come from makes this place even that much more appreciated.
Black Pine Staff: Great job succeeding in caring for these animals where so many others have failed! Also thanks for sharing these amazing creatures with us.
