This company regularly throws out empty bottles of dangerous chemicals with the labels scratched off. (Hydrochloric Acid, Sulphuric Acid, Acetone, Formaldehyde.) Proper disposal would cost them.
The production lead once brought us into a meeting where they directed us to remove the labels from the bottles of Hydrochloric Acid we threw out so that "the people at the landfill wont worry."
Also there is the dumpster load (per month) of plastic bags and zip-ties that they deem not to recycle despite my urging.
Safety measures are severely lacking. $12 an hour is not worth breathing noxious fumes every time you titrate something too large to fit in their single fume hood. Then everyone else in the lab gets to breath those fumes too, because there is no air-circulation system.
The worst (and most negligently dangerous) employer I have ever had the displeasure to work for.
They fired the one person there who actually had a business degree.
Wasteful disposal procedures.
No recycling of the hundreds of plastic items they go through per week.
Disrespectful/condescending management.
Good'ol Boy system for promotion.
We once had a company meeting where they told us to scratch the labels off the bottles of Hydrochloric Acid so that "the people at the landfill wont worry." Actually they have to pay extra for the hazard disposal.
