  The rooms are basic. I lucked out getting one with AC. It was very humid during the nights so the room became damp. The lodge is close to plenty of trails. There are two restaurants at the location. Also, there is a gift shop next to the main area, handicap parking, and down the road there are q other gift shops along with a gas station. April did a wonderful job cleaning the room everyday.
  
  The New Market Taproom has GREAT pizza and fantastic drinks. Tammy is such a welcoming person. Loved having her as our waitress. Thanks for the blackberry floppy frappe!
  
  The dining area has great food and beautiful scenery. Christina could have been a little nicer but maybe she was having a bad day?

  Had such a wonderful time at Big Meadows Lodge. All I wanted to do was to get away from the world; sit on top of a mountain, do some hiking, and catch up on my reading. I'm not a 'luxury' kind of guy so I appreciated the rustic feel of the place. I chose basic accommodations which were fine but next time I expect I will upgrade to a higher level. Rooms on the slope-side get a better evening breeze. The staff is quite friendly and accommodating. The views are stunning. Some of the menu items are a bit over-priced in my opinion, but it's a good amount of food! Liked the Meatloaf and Turkey better. I think chef is probably better at home-spun favorites.
  Restaurant is struggling with post-pandemic staffing issues like everyone else. They work hard!
  I'll plan another visit in a few years

  First time staying on June 14…. Interesting set up, I understood rooms was “roughing” it but at least put a fan in the rooms please, it was to hit all night, maybe have someone walk through with a blower to clean off porches on cabins.. tap room was great service and prices.. was vary warm downstairs though.. all in all not bad, I’ll remember a fan next time myself though

  Older rooms were satisfactory for the lowest price rooms. Small and rustic but that was expected for a lodge built in the 1930s. Higher price rooms are more upscale with more space and TV. Both locations provide great views on the mountains and valley. Great location to go either north or south on Skyline drive. Excellent food in the restaurant. The clerk, Andre, provided a gracious and equitable solution to a problem I had with our reservation. Thank you Andre for great customer service!

  Built in 1939, Big Meadows Lodge is rustic, welcoming and beautiful. Great view of WV from the main lounge. Various trails from easy to moderately strenuous. Family friendly with playgrounds and swings. Some rooms/cabins are pet friendly.
  Friendly, courteous and efficient staff.
  Really enjoyed our three day stay there.
