John has been doing my taxes for 8 years. He does a wonderful job and goes the extra mile often working behind the scenes and late hours to make sure that when complicated issues come up, he resolves them for you. Oftentimes he’s on the phone with the IRS or searching tax laws to make sure that the issues are resolved in a timely fashion and that they are done correctly! He’s also very reasonable!

According to the IRS, our AGI was reported incorrectly, which has caused a significant delay on our tax refund. It has been FOUR MONTHS still no refund. The two times I called to inquire, I did not receive a call back. Good customer service is a MUST, and I shouldn't have to keep calling just because my preparer can't make time to return my calls.
UPDATE: We only received our refund after talking with an IRS Tax Advocate. DEFINITELY unsatisfied.response / report this review -

We were very disappointed with this business. Mr. Benzing made an honest mistake on our 2017 taxes. We took the mistake info from the IRS to him in Oct. 2019. Instead of admitting an honest mistake he lied to us twice telling us that we didn’t give him all of the information and documents in our folder didn’t match his. Everything we took to him in 2017 was in our folder. He had a copy of all items in his file as well. He also stated he called us to pick up our file but he never did call us. His winter hours were not posted and the business was rarely open early or late. I would recommend going elsewhere.

Great one on one service whether in person, over the phone or even email whatever you are more comfortable with and suits your life needs! Extremely fast, detailed and organized tax packets! I will be recommending them to anyone searching for a tax agent! Also my kids loved the fact it still has that feel of a train station inside keeping the history of Tecumseh with their business!

Very nice office, great staff, I like how you deal with one person instead of someone different like the big companies very professional people and I plan on coming back next year and recommending all of my friends here. Love supporting the little guy and someone right in my town, it's a win win
