Daisy is a wonderful host and loving soul! The place is so cute and quiet, it is a great place for a long weekend getaway!

My daughter and I stayed at Bella Vista while touring the University of Iowa. This is a beautiful old house with many room options available. Daissy is a warm and accommodating host. She made us feel right at home and cooked delicious vegetarian breakfast for us. If our daughter chooses UI we will definitely stay with Daissy whenever we visit!

We had a wonderful time. This was our first experience with a b&b and we have decided it is the only way to go. Daisy, the owner, is a wonderful cook and hostess. She is also an amazing person and very interesting. If you are going to Iowa City this is definitely the place to stay. It is close to campus and to the interstate.

I stayed at Bella Vista when I moved my daughter into the University of Iowa. My room was comfortable, food was delicious and Daissy was a wonderful hostess. This B&B is within easy walking distance to campus, which was extremely helpful. I'm sure I'll be back!

My 6-years old son and I have stayed at A Bella Vista Bead and Breakfast on several occasions. The location is wonderful, just a few blocks from downtown Iowa City, and a couple of blocks from the city park—in case you are up for a run or a walk. The rooms are comfortable, quiet, and sunny. Daissy is a great hostess. We enjoyed our conversations over breakfast. The food was delicious and well-presented. She is very accommodating, attentive, and as usual made us feel quite welcome. I truly recommend A Bella Vista Bead and Breakfast. Perfect location, great stay and great hostess. Thank you from William and Lucas from El Paso, TX.

A Bella Vista housed us wonderfully for two nights. Daissy is both personable and warm, and it was a real joy to hear and see pictures of all her travels. The house itself is located a short drive from downtown Iowa City, but is far enough away to remain very peaceful and quiet. Our room was comfortable, roomy, and clean, and we look forward to staying with her once more, whenever we visit Iowa City.

This is a great B&B that is in a quiet neighborhood but also very convenient to downtown Iowa City and the Univ of Iowa campus. Daissy is a wonderful hostess who serves up a tasty breakfast and great conversation!

Last year, our college-age daughter made a trip to Iowa City to attend Admitted Students Day at the University of Iowa. With the NCAA Tournament in town that same weekend, there were no hotel rooms to be found. We ended up booking a room for her at A Bella Vista B&B. After talking to Daissy, the gracious hostess, on the phone, we felt like we were sending our daughter off for a weekend at Grandma's rather than sending her to an impersonal hotel where no one would know or care about her. Daissy arranged for a shuttle to drive her from the airport to the B&B and back to the airport at the end of her stay. She assisted our daughter in navigating around the city and, with her wealth of knowledge about the town, provided lots of helpful advice.
Naturally, when our family recently traveled to Iowa City, we did not consider staying anywhere else. The neighborhood was quiet, the accommodations were charming and clean, the breakfasts were outstanding, and Daissy bent over backward to do anything she could to make our stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible. I only wish we had not been so busy during our stay! We could have easily spent a full day looking at her photographs, another day exploring all of the artifacts that she has collected on her many world travels, and much longer than that listening to the fascinating stories of her travels and experiences!
As our daughter now lives near the university, we will be staying in her spare room from now on when we visit, but we can’t imagine making a trip to Iowa City without stopping by to visit Daissy and to spend an hour or so chatting and catching up on her most recent adventures! The accommodations are lovely, but Daissy is truly a gem!response / report this review -

We had such a wonderful stay! The house is charming in a cute neighborhood just a short walk from downtown. Daissy was a great host - this has been our best B&B experience staying with someone so accommodating, personable and interesting. Loved seeing photos from her global travels and look forward to our next visit.

A Bella Vista is a Delicious Experience! The warmth and interest of the host, the internationally eclectic ambiance, the charming accommodations and area, the home-cooked breakfast and more nourish guests at Daissy's B and B. Anyone who has traveled abroad will feel well met. Others will be enticed to experience the world. All will return to A Bella Vista whenever Iowa City beacons. I certainly will.
