We stayed at Beechnut for two nights in October. We were late arrivals, so we had to call to have someone come show us where our campsite was. It turned out there was someone else in our site, so we got the one next to it. That was OK. We got settled in and used the campground as a nice base camp for offsite activities during the weekend. The only thing to do at the campground in October was to fish. We did some walking around and enjoyed the ponds, they're stocked so the fishing was decent, and we caught a few crappie. When it was time for us to check out, we asked for a later check out so we could finish doing some final things, and they were accommodating. We saw that they used to have a zip line and they also used to have a water slide. The pools were not open when we visited. All-in-all, it was a fine place to stay! Really a nice quiet place will be coming back. Camping on the pond and seeing ducks and ducklings swimming and waddling around. Can't wait to come again. Would really like for all of the family to come here together.

We stayed in a tent. It was quiet and there was plenty to do for the kids. It's about 10 minutes from Mount Airy.

Bathrooms need work no laundry room. WIFI doesn't come in well at sites. 3 nice pools though. They need new chairs by the pools though. The campsites are a nice size and well maintained. Almost level. I would stay here again.

I called at least 10 times, my wife called three and sent three emails. On my sixth call someone answered and said they would call back at 8PM. Still waiting for the call and its been two days waiting for a reponse to the emails. If this is an indication of the service my family and I will recieve. No thanks.
They have no reservation system and I do not want to travel 3.5 hours without some assurance that a site would be available.

Other than the overbearing Christian music perpetually playing it's a great 3 segment pool. $7 for adults over 5 years old, which is a hair steep, today there are 2 lifeguards on duty, beautiful open scenery with a nice breeze, and a beautiful young woman at the snack bar to top it off.
