Expected authentic beaver housing, got a twin bed. Food was shmeeh and watch out for the guy next to you because he's friends with everybody in the restaurant/lodge. This island is too small. Definitely going to the Bahamas next holiday.

The Beaver Island Lodge offers great views of Lake Michigan and some of the best food you can find on the island. The service is very good but can be slow. You should plan on spending about $30 on your plate.

The service is very good. Comfortable room with nice bed and refrigerator and microwave and sink but no stove or oven or hot plate. The bathroom was a little bit ramshackle. It is a 3/4 mile walk to the grocery store. The view from the room of Lake Michigan is extraordinary. Best thing at Beaver Island Lodge is the restaurant. The food is five star.

Choose from a wide variety drinks, food and pastry selection. It's the perfect place to book a reservation with the family or that special one and absorb nature at its best the the lake breeze. The chilled ambience is just right.

For the island, this seems like one of the nicest hotels (granted we did not stay anywhere else though). The room was sparse but nice (we had the corner upgrade), the view was absolutely awesome (incredible sunset from the balcony), and the restaurant was way better then expected, even better then some top end main land high end places (and I eat out a lot for business all over the country). They even picked us up from the ferry dock so we did not have to carry our bags which was nice (even if it would have only been about a 7 minute walk). This is definitely a laid back spot, but that is what we were looking for. I would definitely stay here again. Oh, and for breakfast and lunch, try the Dalwhinnie Bakery and Deli, absolutely wonderful food as well.
