Found the book we wanted right away and they had fair prices

This place is the best bookstore in the area. The staff are incredibly nice, very helpful, and always smile when I walk in. They have a decent collection of Vermont books along with some very nice cards, both handmade and not. Their kids section is amazing and they have a large selection of recent novels. The science section is small, but they have the important books. My favorite part of the store is bookshelf right in the middle near the register that is "staff picks". I always find something interesting there.

I have been traveling to Stowe for 20 years (from St. Louis). I always patronize the local small businesses. This store has great selections and great cards, and I always buy something. This year, however was different. A gentleman working there began to follow me and my sister as if we were going to steal something. It was not our imagination. Wherever we went there he was, pretending to look at books near us. At one point I looked up to find him peaking from behind a shelf and when I spotted him he ducked back behind the shelf. What an insult. My sister and I are educators and good honest people. Perhaps we weren't dressed to the nines or whatever is the criteria for someone who looks like they will steal. I will never return to this store.
