The store was nice and crowded (it's Black Friday) and I brung a bag of clothes to sell. All my items were name brand (Commes de Garcons, fashion nova, & many more I paid allot for) and got nothing back for it! The females there all stand around and talk amongst themselves making you feel uncomfortable, but I felt it's because I was black. They told me they couldn't take my clothes because they weren't in season or the condition, but the racks were full of mini skirts and a bunch of shoes they were selling looked horrible. What I can say is that two of the ladies were very nice to me, the others seemed judgemental and I feel they didn't take my things on purpose. Wasnt a great experience for me.
Today was my FIRST & LAST TIME going to this location. The workers were acting very snobbish and watching me like I was going to steal or something. I gave them good quality items and only got a little amount back. The items were name brand. The workers didn’t greet me when I walked in even though the store wasn’t crowded at all. It just wasn’t worth the trip. All female workers aren’t good for a store. They act too funny and stare too much. I will be making a blog about this store. I wouldn’t recommend bringing in NOTHING to this location. Any other location is worth it. I’m so disappointed in the experience.
If you wear women's clothes it's great, but the men's section is lacking. Great employees!
I went to Beacon's Closet for the first time today and I was disappointed. I have 5 pairs of jeans which were practically brand new Levi's Jeans to Vintage Jeans plus a pair of Uggs that were basically new and a brand new Adrianna Papel 200$ dress. The clerk indicated that they would only buy the Uggs but the price is so low she is embarrassed to say and referred me to another store called ELEVEN. Clerk indicated they offer low low offers when buying from customers and she refused to tell me what price and I was not going to beg to know. A customer overheard the transaction and indicated she had the same uggs and they bought them off of her at 14 St Beacon Closet for good price. I was turned off and do not recommend this location. To my opinion the clothes they had to purchase were extremely old fashioned. I was surprised they did not wish to buy my items. The shoes they had were old and damaged. I do not recommend this location. I would rather continue to sell my clothing on the web such as Ebay or Poshmark.
Way better options available in Williamsburg and greenpoint or Manhattan if you're willing to make the journey. Most items are overpriced. Beacons closet seem to pride themselves in acquiring items that are odd, unique, but aesthetically grotesque. It works for some people but for myself it doesn't.
Love this place ! The selection is great, lots of good designer pieces , quirky vintage and clothes with character. The selling process is also very easy with staff being very friendly, clear and efficient!
Great walk in store. I also shop on their website. This particular location is great because its smaller than the others but is not as packed as the main one. I've gotten so many treasures here. My favorite was a new with tag Moschino band jacket with the $800 tag still attached. To me, beacon's has the best selection when it comes to lightly worn designer goods in NYC. The customer service is always excellent.
Fair prices and well curated selection. Could use more men's clothes.
The online store is love! Usually check arrivals 1-2 times a week. Great pricing policy and super-fast shipping. Recommend.
Love the online store! I check their selection just about once a week. The price is always right. When I'm ready to pull the trigger, shipping is always super quick! Legit two day shipping!! Ordered this latest time on Friday morning. Package was shipped out that afternoon and reached my zipcode down in New Orleans by Sunday morning. Too bad the post office was closed and had to await a Monday delivery! Would have arrived with a single business day of transit had I ordered on Thursday I'm sure!
Sold clothes here for store credit. Cashier gave me a slip and I left. Little did I know that the slip worked as cash.
Really would have appreciated knowing that ahead of time before effectively donating a bunch of my clothes.
Go to the green point location. Better selection and a digital credit system.
