I live in the Los Angeles metro area. I purchased and took delivery of a 4RUNNER TRD Off-Road Pro from Crown Toyota down the road from the Baymont Inn & Suites in Lawrence, KS. My wife booked this hotel for me because it was the cheapest place she could find, and she was upset with me because I was spending money to fly all the way to Kansas to buy a truck. I couldn’t argue because good husbands don’t argue with good wives when they are “taking care” of you like this. That said, I was prepared for a rough night in an inexpensive hotel. To my surprise this is a VERY nice place for the price. Everything is spotlessly clean and fresh. The carpets seem new. I was very comfortable and slept very well. I enjoyed a solid free breakfast compliments of the Baymont and then had a great time driving my new Toyota back to LA.

The outside did not look too pretty, but the inside was nice. It is a non-smoking building, but you could tell it used to be. The service was good and the staff was friendly.

Rooms are decent, bathrooms are small. You can tell they used to allow smoking in the rooms. They still smell like smoke. If you're sensitive to the smell, don't stay here. Decent quality for a good price.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay. The staff was always friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, the beds were on the firmer side but very comfortable. I LOVED the pillows. I slept very well. There were lots of guests during our stay but it was very quiet. Breakfast was good. Eggs, sausage links, biscuits and gravy, choices of breakfast breads and cereals, fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee, hot chocolate, and hot tea. Get there early. 😁 We also made use of the pool, hot tub, and fitness room.

I'm not sure how this hotel is rated almost 4/5 stars to be quite honest. I'm generously giving it 3/5 stars purely based off the friendly staff and the fact that the bed was at least comfortable. I understand this hotel is on the cheaper side - I was not expecting anything fancy at this price point - but it seems basic maintenance has been overlooked here for quite some time. The hallway carpets were dirty, corners/areas around the vent had spider webs/dirt in the room, our window didn't close all the way, the a/c unit sounded like it was on it's last life, the pool looked like it had a film on the top of it, ice machine on 3rd floor was broken, and the room had a weird odor to it. Like I said, I know this hotel is on the cheaper side but the issues I saw seemed to be due to a neglect of basic maintenance.

5 stars for Levi. Levi is an asset to Baymont Inn and Suites. He is efficient and helpful He patiently worked with me to print my boarding passes as neither computer or printer was working. Baymont is lucky to have Levi as an employee.

Best day-n-night staff I've had in a long time. Very nice and very respectable. And breakfast was a 5 star as well. You have a wonderful team, treat them as such, cause they deserve it.

The hotel was pretty clean, but older. There was not a vent fan in our bathroom and a piece of panel missing above the microwave area. Also, when the room was cleaned, the toilet paper was not refilled, not were there any extra rolls left so we had to go down and ask for more. The breakfast was pretty standard stuff, bagels, toast, danishes, waffles, etc.

The staff was nice and the lobby was nice, but other than that I disliked it. The pool was tiny and freezing. It's only redeeming quality was its cleanliness and the salt water over chlorine decision. The "hot tub" was more of a "warm tub". The elevator was creepy and a little scary because it creaked and thumped when you rode it. We killed a centipede in our room and had to ask for more pillows AND towels because it makes sense that a room with four people only needs three bath towels. The toilet ran almost constantly (which is an easy fix, come on people) and the shower lacked any water pressure and was obviously made for very short people. The alarm clock tried to blind us at night, but at least there was no road noise or loud neighbors. I had high hopes for breakfast but discovered, instead, stale cereals and shortages on milk and prep spray for the waffle maker. We booked it because it was rated 4 stars. I would barely consider 2 stars. Barely. The only things saving it from 1 star from me is the nice staff and lack of bed bugs.

The stay itself was good and the staff was helpful during that time I was there. However, the gentleman that I booked the room with booked me for the wrong date and they had to reverse the charge and find me a room when I arrived. I was charged the day after I check out at the price I found on the website and the 4 days later I had another charge on my account for an amount more than what I stayed at originally. I stayed one night for my student orientation. Not two nights. I'm really angry right now because I have never had an experience like this and I travel frequently. I give the stay and the staff present 5 stars but the process before and after I would not even give it one. I called to try to figure it out and nobody even answered the phone.

I am always so grateful to have your Inn to come & stay at when in Lawrence visiting family. This is my home away from home. I am sooo thrilled to have Roberta back as she does an exceptional job & if all employees would be trained by her that would be a blessing for them. All your staff on cleaning are awesome & learning & getting to know the other new staff. Will be nice when 1st floor is done. Love the breakfast area remodel too. Thank you doesn't even begin to cover how much my sister and I appreciate your kindness to help give us the best cost possible and have been coming about 5 years and it helps tons. Thank you and hope God continues to bless you all.
