This vintage motel has been updated with modern amenities like flat screen TV, available microwave & fridge, great wifi. My room was comfortable and very clean, crisp fresh linen, roomy. Pillows a bit uncomfortable but otherwise a great place to stay. Directly across the street from the National Road Museum.

I'll sum it up simply - it's not a Holiday Inn and you're not going to have those fancy accoutrements. What you will get is a very, very clean place to lay your head and take a hot shower. The owner is a super personable guy who was happy to cater to our special room arrangements and always willing to have a nice conversation with you. The motel was built in the 30's and it has that feel to it. Despite it's age, the TV's, HVAC and furniture are clean and updated. The bathrooms are the beautiful original tile from the 30's (where the owner had been able to maintain it.)
The property and grounds are quiet and off the beaten path, but in contrast to that, the area is well-lit, well maintained and covered with surveillance for a feeling of safety.
If you're looking for a resort destination, move along to more expensive locations. If you're looking for a clean, affordable place to stop for the night or have a short weekend getaway to visit some local sites, this place should be on your list.
