  Happy two-time customer of tortoise purchases. Both arrived healthy and extremely well packaged. This was during the July 2022 heatwave and tortoise arrived packed with cooling gel bags. Very happy they treat their animals well during transit.

  DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. We ordered an Asian Water Monitor hatchling. It arrived extremely thin and sick. It died the night we got it. We contacted them several times and did not hear back for several days. Finally they contacted us a full 3 days after our initial attempts to contact them and said they needed a photo of the monitor on the shipping label. I told them that it died 3 days ago and we couldn't leave it rotting in our house for that long and we disposed of its body. I sent numerous photos of it clearly dead and its emaciated condition before it died. They told me that was "just their policy" and they couldn't help me. They should not have waited several days to get back with me if they wanted a specific photo of its body. The animal should have never been allowed to get into that condition in the first place. These people do not take proper care of their animals and should be shut down for abuse.

  To be honest, Backwater Reptiles was really helpful. Contacting them on email though was pretty poor. Because after trying to get in reach of them, it's like they can only contact on email once a day. I know and see the fact why there are complaints of animals being shipped and delivered to other customers, yet they end up being dead, ill, or deformed. By the time I myself purchased 8 frogs more than a week ago or two, they said back that they can't fully guarantee that they'll all be alive by the time they're delivered to the right address. I just got word from the UPS saying that they were all healthy and alive. Lucky and quite a miracle. I didn't think it would be that easy at all, even after purchasing such a large amount. Backwater Reptiles has my thanks for that, and they were quite courteous too. All it takes is that we need to be patient with more time when it comes to being a customer for this Animal Company. What I'm really hoping is that soon in the future, Backwater Reptiles could sell gliding tree frogs, like the blue webbed or black webbed.

  I ordered my panther chameleon just a couple days before Christmas as a gift for my daughter and thankfully he arrived right on time. When I received the package he was very alert a bit shy but calm. He’s overall very healthy and we love him he’s so beautiful 🤩 I’ll definitely be purchasing a female in a year or so. Thank you backwater reptiles for your fast responses even when I bombarded with so many questions before and after my purchase. I’m happy I came across this website. 👍

  I appreciate the best looking chameleons this company sent me. They look healthy and well cared for. Arrived live and immediately started eating crickets! I love the way my male and a female look. They are fat and gorgeous! Thank you so much for raising top quality chameleons.
  I will be your customer forever now. Highly recommended store to get your new pet.
