I have only ever been to the Tampa location where they are amazing! Just went to this location for the first time and there was a long line checking out, so I approached the front desk to ask where I should go to check in for my salon service. I’m not sure who the person was if they were a manager or not, but they did not have a line they were tending to so I wasn’t interrupting anyone and was expecting them to at least greet me; instead she looked at me and with an unwarranted attitude said “Well, the line is right there.” I mean I get it, I’m paying half the price I would at a salon; but I want somewhat of a salon/spa experience and not to be treated like I am at a Dunkin’ Donuts. I know the holidays are crazy, but it’s common courtesy!! Walked out and won’t be back to this one.
The one appointment I had that didn't get cancelled was fine. Otherwise, they cancelled my massage 2 months after I booked it (1st opening) and couldn't get me in for another 2 months. Prenatal, so too late it was after my due date. Cancelled my facial 3 weeks after I booked, they over scheduled. Cancelled my rescheduled facial day of, student out sick and no one else could do it.
Had a perm which could have been a horrible ordeal. It wasn't!!! Not only was it pleasant, it was a great job and I love it.
I had my first visit on Friday. Chantal did my color and we went thru several pics before I had somewhat of the color I wanted and Chantal got the color just right. Very happy with service a n my fiance had his done by Emmy and he also gives her a 5 star. Will go back again!
Would give 0 if I could. Awful for-profit school that makes you feel like you’re on edge no matter what you do or how you act. You’re always in trouble for something. They terminate students with no evidence. You barely slip up once, you’re getting written up and sent home. Save your money and go somewhere else. They make this place seem like a warm welcoming place with experienced educators when in reality you’re ostracized for asking questions, talked down to when you try new things, and just made to feel like a total idiot if you don’t get something. You feel like you’re walking into a mask shop the classmates there are SO MEAN and the educators do nothing but allow it to happen. The educators are the worst part. The education itself was fine. But when my Theory teacher tells me to “learn everything at home” after I spent $20,000 to learn it from you?? Then they just give you the answers to the tests, and when you do it between each other you get written up for cheating. Becca is the WORST!! Nobody there really seems like they want to teach you. Those “300 hours of advanced education” is FREE LABOR for the school so they can milk as much profit from you as they can. They try to tell you your tips are a “privledge” after standing and doing hair for 11 hours STRAIGHT. Save yourself the trouble. I’m taking legal action against this school. Don’t go through the troubles that I did.
I just left there and I'm just very unhappy with my service. I paid 70 dollars for my hair to look terrible. I regret not saying anything. This is the second time I was unhappy leaving there. I won't be going back.
Today I had a pedicure and loved it! Grace was awesome, so was Jessica at reception. What amazing service and a fun relaxing experience. My mother also had a pedicure with me, then had a haircut from a “Master”. My aunt also had a huge makeover cut that made her look like a movie star!! Highly statisfied with the service we received, the results from the pedicures and hair cuts as well. We even got to take a portrait with their lovely lighting ring! Try the tea, it’s delicious! Also try the new doughnut shop in the same plaza, you’ll have a sweet treat to end your epic spa experience. Very professional staff with close supervision from highly skilled professors. Highly recommend.
I have been getting my hair cut here for years. The ONLY place to get a sexy trendy short haircut with out looking like a man. Tips: bring pictures, lots of pictures! Always ask for a masterclass student. Go in before 5 because the shift of instructors changes. I rarely get my color done there but the few times that I have the color has been great. Last tip: plan to be there for several hours.
It was nice especially for the price. Services and quality really depends from student to student. I've only experienced a couple massages. I had one massage where the lady talked the whole time and another that was very relaxing. That's the hard part - it's inconsistent. They do have great products, the service is very affordable and there was availability for an appointment rather quickly. Overall, worth a shot but not a premier spa in Orlando.
I went to this Institute to earn my cosmetology licence and it was a great experience all around. The teachers were passionate about passing on important knowledge and really wanted us to excel. I learned so much and my classmates became my family. I have also fallen in love with the products and use them to this day. Most products and even the hair color is up to 98% naturally derived and sustainably sourced. Most of all the beliefs that Aveda as a company stands by are uplifting and I believe are truly restoring humanity to this world!
Do not go here unless your problem can grow out quickly. I have went many times over the years and sometimes my hair turned out great. The last couple of times there were problems and the staff would do nothing. A teacher destroyed my hair cut so much with a razor face frame that another salon said it could not be fixed without turning my very long hair into a pixie. I had even said use no razor. I have also had them miss spots with root touch up color which they fixed for free but that is another 2-3 hours of my time. The massage room is too cold and I could tell she only knew 3 moves.
I go to get haircuts and its good. Hair color not so much. I wanted purple hair. Brought a photo. Everyone saw it. I didnt get the purple I got a deeper and different color purple then i wanted. And the stylist burned my scalp so bad i was crying the entire way home. She kept putting the hair dryer so close to my head. But i kept going after that and they do pretty good. I like hair cuts. Just. Might be careful with colors.
I'm beyond annoyed! I called and made an appointment for myself and my mom. We requested Master students. I called back and asked if I could add a partial and they said no problem just come in an hour earlier. Okay, great. They call me back as I'm walking out the door and they can't find my mom's appt and then they want us to come at 1 instead of 11 and moved the appt to non-masters students. Way more work than its worth. It's super inconsiderate considering I had to make arrangements for someone to watch my 5 year old and 2 year old and you've had to rearrange your entire day and get nothing out of it.
AWESOME! I've been using the Aveda Institute as my "salon and spa" for over 5 years. I walk away with $300+ hair at less than $100!
Love the spa, as well! Massage, facials - just like an expensive spa, but for much less! Full body attention! Aromatherapy included! Fully relaxed and stress free!
For this nonprofit career gal, Aveda Institute is a must!
