I wish I could give this place a 3.7 star. Most of the front desk staff was rude. The other half of the staff were delightful. The rooms were nice and had little balconies, but little privacy. Hot pool, but children are down there often. (Not the lodge's issue.) Reasonably priced for a weekend getaway. None of my complaints are worth not staying there.
NO COMPLAIN.EXCELLENT NICE SERVICECLEAN AND CONFORTABLE
Nice hotel. Nice room. Walls are thin if your neighbor is loud. Breakfast starts at 730am and no earlier. You can make waffle pancakes or other pastries, toast, bananas and orange juice.
Aspen Mountain Lodge is a fantastic destination. Our family had a wonderful visit. Service was impeccable. Would definitely like to return as soon as we can.
Nice, cozy, warm and friendly place to stay with free parking, Wi-Fi, and breakfast. Located on the main street with western style.
Set in a location central to Aspen. Some cute rooms, small but clean. Lovely staff helpful and friendly very accommodating. Nice breakfast included.
Aspen Mountain Lodge is our favorite since 2005. They have great rates, big rooms, very cozy beds and a breakfast bar that is lovely. The staff is always helpful. If you come in the summer they have a swimming pool too. Check it out.
We booked this room late in the day out of necessity. The room I originally inquired about was (overpriced) at $127 for 2 queen beds. We had to pay $20 extra for a king bed. I've never heard of that before. The available parking for guests is probably less than their room count. We had to park on the street a block away. Then there was no elevator! So for my poor old out-of-shape self, I had to climb stairs getting into the building, stairs getting up to the desk, and 3 more flights of stairs to our room. I thought my heart would explode before getting there.
The night clerk was filling in for someone and had developed a cold herself that day. While she graciously offered us the user of her hand sanitizer after she handled my driver's license, credit card, room keys, etc., I'm just hoping that nothing sneaked it's way onto me. I've sneezed more today than I have all year.
The room itself was very dated (like 60's-70's). The bed was so close to the closet that my husband had to scoot in sideways to get in bed. There was plenty of space in the room, but it just needed major updating. The bathroom had a Jacuzzi tub but I didn't trust that the jets were clean enough to use it. The bed was like a trampoline - every time my husband rolled over, I bounced around on my side of the bed. The pillows were hard, making restful sleep impossible.
The one really nice, unexpected feature was the balcony. The sun rose over the balcony and it was very comfortable sitting out there having coffee/juice.
When my husband got up this morning, he went to move the car from the street to the parking lot. I took a random video of him looking on the passenger side before he came to to the room. About an hour or so later as we loaded up to leave, there was a giant pile of bear scat that I had to step around to get in the same side of the car that he'd just recently looked at. The desk clerk said she saw it this morning when she came in after it got into the garbage. She picked up the garbage and shortly thereafter she checked and the garbage had been strewn around again. So beware of bears!
Would I stay there again? Only if the price was more in line with the quality of the room.
The only reason it gets two stars is that the location is pretty good. The place is a dump and staff is nice but not terribly helpful. The pic was the phone next to my room - really.
Great lodge. Staff was very nice. Clean, everything you would expect from Aspen. Great views
Our stay at Aspen Mountain Lodge was wonderful. The room was large, a queen bed and a couch, with a balcony. It had a fridge and microwave. The Lodge is with in walking distance of downtown. We will definitely return to this hotel.
Hotel looks very nice, room is basic by US standards but had all that was required. Breakfast was simple but nice. A few mornings it was quite late in getting put out though. Recommend staying for the price, which is good by Aspen standards.
Staff was great. Breakfast was basic but acceptable. Room' s air conditioning was turned off for the winter season. Was a very cute hotel, walking distance from everywhere.
The view was amazing from my balcony. The lodge has a lot of charm and character. Everyone in the lodge was friendly and extremely accommodating. I look forward to my next visit and will always try to stay at the Aspen Mountain Lodge if they have a room available.
