I went for a scheduled service appointment and they had me wait for 75 minutes before someone would "help" me by acknowledging that the computer always broken and taking the device for a repair. Something happened where the person that was supposed to help me left or something, though they never told me exactly. Additionally they wanted me to give them the passwords to my work laptop, which is the dumbest thing I have ever been asked by any type of technical support. When I explained to them I wasn't going to get fired so they can have access to my data and internal company resources they got offended and even told my employer that I "seemed angry." Don't bother talking to the "geniuses" here and if you need assistance go with a direct call to the support on the phone.
I went in because my iPhone 7 turned off after an update and was stuck in a power loop. I took it into the store where Mike quickly diagnosed the problem and replaced it with a brand new one all within an hour. I'm very thankful for the help!
Always super busy here. I waited forever to talk to someone and then when I finally got someone they had him helping me and another person at the same time. Pretty unprofessional for Apple.
i would recommend making an appointment if you need help with your device. the staff is super friendly! just be prepared for a wait if you didnt make an appointment
Good place and smart people. Our iPhone 6 blew up. It was out of warranty. They replaced it anyway, which was terrific. However, I only gave 4 stars because they claimed that our phone had a 3rd party battery. We bought the phone used but we knew the person and he showed us email verifying when he got the phone, which was 11 months ago. We were suspicious that it really wasn't a 3rd party battery but that they might have said it was to limit their liability. The genius said any iPhone that blows up had to have a 3rd party battery. I asked to see the battery twice and he said no that the phone was already in the safe. I like the store and I was happy to get it replaced with new iPhone 6 for free. And in this case no one got hurt. If it happens to you I recommend that you check the battery out closely and take a picture of it before you take it in just to be on the safe side.
I bought my first iPhone there for 5 minutes. So good service. When I ordered it, no one forced me to bought something else like cover or glass. Apple, said enough. Staff was polite.
Look, it's an Apple Store like any other.
It looks like a fake electronic store on a daytime soap because they only sell about 10 things, but have a thousand boxes lining the shelves.
The customer service is prompt, but unsettling because there's always someone you didn't see, right at you elbow getting SOMEBODY ELSE to take care of you.
So. Much. White. And I'm not just talking about all the boxes and decor.
The ever-present daily allowance of hipster nonsense.
So if you're good with that and still want a device that treats you like a sheltered, ignorant child by locking you out of basic features and functionality...then you will get exactly what you're looking for here.
There ARE 3 things I think you should know:
1) The business liaisons at this location (the guys you call when you need certain or multiple things for your company, office, etc) are top notch, and a credit to their profession.
2) The Apple Store in SoHo (NYC) is the only one in the entire franchise with WORSE parking than this location. Seriously. Anyone who has been to shadyside knows what I'm talking about. This is why I gave three rather than four stars.
3) I have a dual monitor mac pro, a full-on lumberjack beard, wear exclusively t-shirts with jeans and have a disturbing fascination with small-batch whiskey. I am waist-deep in the hipster nonsense I have dumped on this whole time. I just own it.
Awesome customer service. A staff member named Lee helped me with an issue i was having with my phone. He was very informative, personable, and dedicated. My issue was solved within minutes!
No waiting
Greeted immediately by 2 associates. One of whom ascertained why we were there and helped to pick iPhone and case and then turned us over to another associate who assisted in setting up new phone. Very efficient and professional. Also, store laid out in a welcoming and efficient way for different items. Would highly recommend.
Quick and always helpful. I came from UK and they always helped me.
Friendly staff great location. Nice area.
I walked in today planing on spending a little over $2,000. I walked out not buying a thing. I used to tell everyone how great the service was at this location, but it seems that is no longer the case. The charger broke on my 10 year old laptop. I wanted to get a new one so that I could get it charged and transfer everything over to a new device. The last time I had a charger issue (in 2013) I was given one for free. Today, they wanted me to pay $80. For a charger. On a 10 year old computer. That might not work. I couldn't believe it. I talked to the manager and she helped my decision to not buy a thing in that store. I've just lost my faith in the apple brand that I had for so long.
Had to get a new hard drive for my macbook, Bought my hard drive on amazon and took it to the apple store for advice and they pretty much took it apart with me and we put the new drive in. Would never expect that like anywhere.. Thanks Guys!
Some people that worked there were friendly and personable. The genius workers that repaired mine and my boyfriends phone were rude. The guy who helped me out didn't say a word to me until he had to tell me he was replacing my phone. For the amount of money the workers get paid you'd think they'd be a little happier.
