I was driving along hwy 20 and google told me i was in the Apalachicola National Forest. I was unaware that I was even in the forest at that point but Google insisted I was. I wish I could have enjoyed the experience more if I would have known I was actually there but since I didn't know I was there it wasn't half as fun as actually haven't gone and actually been there. It's a beautiful Forest you can walk miles and miles and miles and enjoy yourself

Beautiful place, just watch out for ticks, especially if you have a dog. Hiked on a trail towards the East side of the park in December and within an hour pulled over 20 ticks off our dog, and 5 off our pants. If you're out there when the nymph phase of the ticks are active, be extra careful.

I overnight camp here and I have enjoyed myself every time. There is always new experiences and sites to enjoy. With such a large spread, this National Forest is sure to transport even the most avid city dweller into a world of natural beauty away from the modern world.

Big forest. It's nice, but I mean that's it. It's not like a park with a swimming and picnic area. Just some trails, trees and animals. Mother nature fairly undisturbed.

We love coming through here and seeing the hikes and other things to do. One of our favourite spots is silver lake. What a great location to swim and bask in the sun and hold a picnic. Would give 5 stars but lack of camping takes that one star away.
