Good place to take dogs on a walk and watch the ducks and geese swim. My husband and I enjoy watching the baby ducks following their mother around in the spring. The trails are always nice and well maintained. We don't have children but there are always many enjoying their time on the playground.

I go there all the time for parties. It is so amazing to see all the people in on the kids play around in this is little houses in on the swings and it's fun when you were sitting on the swing or when you're playing on the slide or maybe you're just playing like normal and it's super fun I love it.

Great park! Wide open spaces, beautiful trees and shaded areas. Nice sized playground for all age youngsters. Lots of other stuff too.

Fantastic park with great old trees that offer many paces for picnics. I noticed plenty of walking paths that are nicely paved and a wonderful lake or two. There is play equipment and swings, and a neat little play village. A great place to take the children for an afternoon.

    Very impressive.
The additions to the play area are outstanding & keeping the old play buildings. Fantastic.
    I believe there's a missing train.
    Superb Job Johnson County.
    Hats off

My kids love this park. With all the trails playgrounds and play structures. It's great the kids enjoy this place as much as I did when I was younger.

From a runner's point of view, it's ok for a shorter run. The break from the hot sun and running the bridges and hopping the circle things in the water is fun as long as there are not lots of people. It would get monotonous if you ran very long or far here, but it's a good detour on a long run. It's not very big so I'd estimate the outer trail to be maybe 1/2 mile.

Nice park. Good mix of scenery from the lake to open areas of grass or wooded areas and a rose garden. Lots of shelters to reserve for parties if wanted. You can fish in the small lake, catch and release. Open til 10 from March to October.

When I was a kid, a rite of passage was crossing the round caissons bridge to the island in the middle of the lake. It was absolutely terrifying. Glad to see it hasn't changed much, and is being maintained very nicely by the county. Great place for a hike and a picnic. A real gem in the middle of the city.

This is one of the most highly rated parks in the Kansas City area for a reason. People of all ages can find things to do and enjoy here, facilities are well-maintained and beautiful, and there is lots of room to spread out, so it doesn't become overly crowded. My husband has been coming to this park for two decades and looks forward to bringing his children for a similar amount of time.
