It was our honor to help during Wreaths Across America. In all, we helped lay just over 3,000 wreaths out of 21,000 graves.

A lot of things to see here, and the area is well maintained. The cemetery is open to the public, and there's several different parking areas. I had heard about the prison at Andersonville from historical sites in PA and NY, and visiting this site brought the history together. I grew up close to Gettysburg and visited frequently, these historical sites bring our history to life, even the parts that are not so flattering.
I highly recommend visiting. You can drive to the various exhibits, or walk on the trails. There's also a museum.response / report this review -

I have been to at least 50+ National Parks across the United States. The cons of this locations was insufficient since it was Winter time and the park needed to do its maintenance so some construction was going on. The pros were it was FREE, a great audio driving tour of site could be listen to from your smartphone, and the museum was very interesting to learn about Prisoners of War (POW). I would recommend this location to any person interest in learning about military prisoners.

Small but interesting museum with lots of small artifacts. The stockade could use more additions and explanations. Too many fire ants, so watch out for your little kids. The national cemetery is definitely worth your time. Our honored dead from the civil war to today are here and it's an interesting window into our history and their lives.

As with all the Civil War sites I have visited, watching the film at the visitors center sets a good tone for a great visit. The story behind it, will humble you. Take the time to walk the grounds. You will be walking the same ground that thousands of Union prisoners walked. The site is set up well and you can drive around it. I suggest sitting at the top of the hill under the trees near the visitor center and look out upon the field and imagine what it was like. There is also a POW museum on the sight. It is very well put together and is worth your time. Finish up by driving to the cemetery on the site to get a great visual aide look at the immense number of people who died.

It was amazing. It taught my children so much about their ancestors. I loved the museum and the fact that we got to see where our papa was buried.

Andersonville Georgia is one of the most historic places preserved to remind us that war is hell. I was very pleased with my visit. You should honor the fallen soldiers when you visit.

I went to the Memorial to visit my Grandfather for the first time. I was blown away by the grounds and building, nicely taking care. Has a new building that all the information is in, two movies that you can watch.about this beautiful place. I would visit again and I have told people about the National Memorial.

Have read book titled Anderson very good, brought it all into perspective. Really shows the earthy gritty brutal side of war. Being a military history buff loved the book. Visiting the site tomorrow with my brother n sister.
