Transferred to UW-Madison, don't waste your time here.
I don't know about the academics, however being a male being walked through the all girls dorm made me feel like a piece of meat hanging in front of a hungry lion.
I will be as blunt and honest as possible. The business office/financial aid office has absolutely the worse kind of people. The women in this office are super rude to you and even when they make mistakes on their end regarding paymentsthey still don't apologize!! They make you feel like a criminal standing in there being accused of not paying, when payments are made in advance! Oh and when they are proven wrongall they have to say is, oh this is taken care of now..TERRIBLE. TERRIBLE. TERRIBLE. You would think with the amount of money they make on students tuitions that they would get their business office together. Just get it together Alverno..your students are not your enemies. In fact, your students are why you even exist. Also they don't transfer credits, so you are either there until you graduate or just threw away a boat load of money.
My middle school is close to this collage ive heard rumors that it is a great collage and plenty of people should attend there a-lot of people like my "older sister" attend there she says there is a-lot if life long lessons there
Do not attend this school unless you know 100% you will complete your degree without transferring out to another school. Their credits do NOT transfer. They substantially have raised tuition each year I attended. Their core classes are named and descriptions cause other schools to look at them as electives! They use shady and deceptive admission policies to gain new students. None of their departments work together to keep the same policies, completely unorganized. Dont believe the hype in these comments, Alverno has one of the lowest graduation rates in the state.
Great Music Therapy program!
An amazing college with great professors! I like that they teach you life long skills like communication and leadership.
Nice renovations to a great place
What can I say I LOVE Alverno! I graduated back in 2011 and now I am currently working there. Alverno changed my life, when I started at Alverno I was a very shy 18 year old and now 10 years later you can't shut me up! I will talk and talk and talk about anything you want. Alverno College is truly an amazing school and I wish more people knew that.
High standards in a society that continues to decrease them. I'm an educator and was a student here. I know what I'm talking about.
Alverno College is a Catholic women's college set on the South side of Milwaukee. It was founded in 1887 by the School Sisters of St. Francis. It is a liberal arts college and the campus rests on 46 acres. They recently upgraded the softball field. Though there are dorms, most students live off campus. There are more than 30 student organizations available. The school uses a non-standard grading system. Weekend programs fro a degree are available. Though it is technically a 'women's only' school, some lectures and classes are available to anyone.
I received a wonderful education. I taught art for 5 years, but mathematics for 19 years. My first love.
