We arrived at 7 our Room was not ready they gave us another Room but I ordered a kingsize bed so I could sleep with my husband we got 2 queens instead they were pleasant didn't know they didn't have an elevator had to drag everything up steps. When your 70 that's kind of hard.

Dated but clean, working rooms. Staff are really pleasant and accommodating. The breakfast: probably the best included-breakfast I've had at a similarly ranked place; the biscuits and gravy were made from scratch---and delicious. We were here for Iceman and they let us bring our bicycles inside without hesitation.

We stayed here with a large group. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. Free breakfast was good. Rooms are a little dated but I would stay here again.

This is a hotel that most likely did not renovate all the rooms after the smoking law went in to affect.

I decided to book this hotel even though there were some recent negative reviews of the rooms & hotel. After spending the day traveling over 300 miles we checked to in to the hotel and so far so good until we entered the room. We started to notice the distinct smell of cigarette smoke which became stronger as we were in the room. We were tired and decided to deal with it until we went to use the shower. The shower curtain had what appeared to be splattered "Blood" (9 -10 spots) on it and was quite visible which was very alarming to my wife and myself that house keeping did not see this. And if they did not see this what else was lurking under the covers for us to experience?

I went to the front desk and the young lady there said she would get a new curtain and install it. I also mentioned my wife and myself could smell cigarette smoke in the room. As we walked back in the room the smoke smell was stronger then before and I asked the employee about it and she said could not smell anything. I did not ask her if she smoked but I should have.

As we went in the bathroom to change the curtain I mentioned that housekeeping should have caught this and cleaned it or replaced it to which she responded that they have a good housekeeping staff! After the young lady left the room my wife and myself decided that we could not stay any longer in the room which was about 45 minutes from the time we check in.

I went to the front desk to inquire about a different room due to the smoke smell and I was informed that the hotel was booked and no other rooms were available. The front desk manager said that she had some Febreze that we could take and spray for which I looked at her in disbelief and requested that my money for the room to be reimbursed and I would be checking out. She agreed and we left for our 2.5 hour ride back home as everything in nearby towns were booked. I did not intend to drive 500 miles in one day but did decided it would be a much better choice then staying here!

Not a bad place to stay. There are parts that could use an update or a coat of paint. That being said, the rooms are large, the beds are comfortable, and the showers are hot.

Bathroom towels were changed when I left them on the floor. The rest of the bathroom was not cleaned for the two weeks I was there. Coffee pot was not cleaned when I used it. Sheet we're only changed one in two weeks. Thrash in laundry room was not dumped for two weeks. Maybe I had poor treatment because I pre paid for three weeks for lower payment. Left 5 days early and just lost the money. If this is the best Kalkaska has I'll be staying in Traverse City next trip.

Great service! The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was a pleasant surprise, much more than expected,good food,and included with room! Would recommend this place to family and friends!

I'm here as we speak about to check out. I'm sorry but there king beds are The most uncomfortable bed ever. The breakfast was not good. For what I paid I'm not happy along with the 35 Mins check in process last night. Which they had me in the wrong room and then said " we upgraded you " . I'm thinking not. The updated make overs should have included beds too. I don't go to hotels for any other reason but to sleep when traveling. So when I have to stay I would like to be able to sleep .comfortably .

Love staying here. Our employees also love staying here. The staff is extremely accommodating even when i am booking 9 rooms at a time. Rooms are always clean. The hot breakfast, coffee, juices, fruit, and cereal is a great bonus. They have a pool and hot tub. Huge Thank You to everyone that works hard to make our stay enjoyable.
