Typical american bar. The food they serve is great and fresh and the service was super friendly and welcoming. If you stop in Durbin you should definitely stop by and have a drink

When I want a night off in the kitchen, when staying at East Fork Campground, we go to Al's Upper Inn for burgers or Southwestern Chicken sandwiches. Add Fred's fresh cut fries. Chris, behind the bar will make you feel wecome. Now offering Big Timber Porter.

We were in Durbin to ride the Durbin and Greenbrier Valley Railroad. Bear in mind Durbin is an apparently depressed former logging town, and there isn't much in Durbin for services (gas, food, etc). After our train ride we asked the train crew for dining suggestions and they suggested this place, said the burgers were to die for. As noted in other reviews the place does not look like much from the outside, nor does it in fact look like much on the inside either - very spartan. The locals at he bar gave us some strange looks when we came in, but we forged ahead. The wait staff did not seem very happy about service us either, but they lightened up as the visit continued. The burgers were good, but not to die for. The fries were also good. All the food was good, hence the 4 star rating, and everyone was satisfied with their meal. Otherwise it would be 3 star or less. Overall once we settled in we had a good meal and a good experience. If you can get past the first impressions of the place you should get a good meal here. If we were in Durbin again, we might well try this place again, but we might also try something else if it could be found in Durbin.

Not much to look at, don't let the exterior scare you off. Great burgers and fresh cut fries. Small local bar, all non-smoking. Some pretty good home made food. Good wifi.
