Shared dinner with a friend here. There was a wait but we hung out at the bar (with the awesome bartenders, Michael and Chad are super nice and total cuties!) I had a wonderful flavored margarita recommended by the bartender and it did not disappoint. We then received our table and shared two entrees and were wowed! So great! Recommend making reservations on busy Fridays or the weekends!

The decor is great, the food is great, the service is good. The problem is the first impression. I’ve been there several times, most recently today, and the host/hostess desk is inept at best. The kid, who seemed to be in charge, looked like he could have used a good shower and acted as if he had never been trained in what being a host entails. That first impression definitely needs some work.

Do you like waiting for 2 hours to eat overpriced, Americanized Mexican food? Do you also have high standards for margaritas and only the best will do? Yes? Well you're in the right place!

The food is really not worth the exorbitant prices they ask for, but we all deal with it because MARGARITAS! Best margs in Lewes, easily.
You will wait, for a long time, so make sure you go put a reservation in at lunch so you can come back in time for dinner.

Terrific Mexican food. Great nachos. Everything is very fresh and well-prepared. Cozy, small place in Lewes (if you haven't been to Lewes, it's a quaint, cool must-see.) They've expanded pretty recently, but the wait is often long. Try to go off-hours.

Amazing food and great margaritas, especially the pomegranate. The only issue is the long wait times as others have said and they don't take reservations. Have seen line to get in forming as early as 30 minutes before they open at noon on a weekday during off season. If you go at an off peak time like 2 or 3pm you may get right in though. Food and drinks are worth the wait in my opinion however. Food is a little pricey but very well made.

GREAT margaritas, especially the ancho chili one. Real fresh guacamole unfortunately, that's all we had for a quick snack. All the other food looked good. Very busyexpect a wait as others have said, even at 2:30 in the afternoon. Great service too.

There has been a recent remodel and expansion and it turned out exceptionally nice. The food choices are varied. Personally, my favorite dish is the stacked enchilada, but there is more than plenty for one person! Also high marks for their pomegranate margarita! Margaritas are served in gorgeous glasses that are available for sale. Good luck making a choice. The Mexican street corn and coconut cake are true winners also. Usually a wait to get invery popular.

Excellent food, excellent service, and fresh drinks! Newly remodeled and beautiful! Gets busy so plan a walk around town while you wait.and plan on waiting a few minutes to get in/out of the place. Four doors and only 1 works. Should've considered that on the blue prints

What a great experience! The food is amazing and so is the atmosphere! Everyone was friendly and welcoming. They don't take reservations, but we were able to stop by and put our name on the list and that texted us when the table was ready! Take a walk around the shops on second street to kill some time and work up an appetite before dinner. You won't be disappointed! Have a Margarita if you get there before your table is ready!

This places has extremes. Somethings are very good, but other things are really terrible. Overall, it's better than average Mexican food, but incredibly bad service (every single time we've gone), and very expensive for what you get. Plus, they don't take rez, and there's always a wait of 1-2 hours! Just not worth the hype.
Margs are good, street corn is delicious, and chiles en Nogada is as good as I've had south of the border. But we can't deal with the poor and uncaring service and high prices. Forget trying to get in during the summer, try off season or mid-afternoon if you want less than 30 min wait.

Staff was great and a reasonable wait time from servers as it was packed. I have tried many times to get in with high hopes because the wait is always hour plus for tables. I finally got in and after the food (4 dishes) I don't get the hype. I thought it was a classy joint but was not and the food type as Mexican was botched, over spiced, over cooked and just plain most of the tables around me ate up their meals so it was good to a decent taste but I was expecting exceptional and this fell very short of that. I will go back to try the things I did not get to try this time only to be fair but I do not expect it will match the hype

I have lived in the Western US most of my life and cherish Mexican Food the ambiance of the restaurant and its employees. I recently moved to Salisbury and almost left because of the horrid Mexican food. Then I found Agave Azul. The food is excellent, the ambiance is pleasant and most of all the waiters are pleasant and charming. I've found my Mexican fix home.

I can't vouch for everyone because this is my first visit here, but I have to be honest and say my personal experience was great. Yes, the wait was 45 minutes but it's not because of a bad restaurant, it's a small restaurant. The awesome part is that they take your phone number and text you when your table is ready. My girlfriend and I went 1 minute down the street and had a few drinks at a bar to kill some time which was great. Once we were in the service was great. I just had a beer but she ordered a margarita (which was huge). The apps were good and the dinner went right along with it.

My recommendation, don't use other people's reviews to make a final decision. If I took the negative reviews seriously I wouldn't have came, and I'm glad we ignored it. After our apps, dinners, and drinks, it was only $46, which is more than reasonable for two.

Agave is a great Mexican restaurant in Lewes close to the beach. The food is made with the freshest ingredients. The Margaritas, also made fresh are amazing (bring a designated driver). The staff from management to bus-boys are the politest , kindest people wanting to ensure you have the best experience.
The restaurant is small, quaint, and you could walk by it without knowing; the size makes for a personal warm experience. With that being said, the wait can be very long, plan ahead!
I try my hardest to enjoy Agave no less than once every 5 weeks! Love this place, and I am sure you will too.

I recommend the large Pomegranate Margarita & the triple sampler of Guacamole, Goat Cheese & Pine Nut, Gala Apple & Midnight Moon Cheese, and Shrimp. Also, leave some room for some amazing Jalapeno Cheese Corn Bread!
