Service was impeccable. A little fancy for my taste. Our proteins were both slightly undercooked. Kept it from getting 5.

Abacus often gets lost up its own behind in pretentiousness. Its not that the food is low quality, and the chefs are headstrong, quite the opposite. The chefs and servers seem modest about their food, and the quality of all of my dishes were quite good, albeit a bit overpriced for what they were. With food, presentation is just as important as flavor, and that is where Abacus is lacking. The interiors are a strange mismatch that tries much too hard to be classy, all the while seeming drab and dated. Its similar to the business suite at the airport. Nothing is technically wrong with it, but it tries too hard to be something it isn't.
Drink prices are fantastic, especially during special hours, and are made well, with the bartenders taking specific care towards their craftsmanship.
The food is prepared well, and although plating could use just as much toning down as their interiors, balances flavors well enough.

"The French Dirty Dozen" Spent a Sunday afternoon learning and working in the kitchen with a group of people that love to cook and create and the evening enjoying the fruits of our labor. What an awesome experience! Will definitely return!

Been doing the Dallas Dining Scene a long time. These people seriously get it. Last night was New York status. Just unbelievable attention to detail. I could go onAbacus is on the screws better than I have ever seen in this city.

I ate here a week ago- and let me just start off by saying that I arrived wearing ripped jeans and a T-shirt, a far cry from how one should dress for a restaurant this upscale. Regardless of that, the customer service here was fantastic. Everyone from the hostesses to our waiter was very pleasant, polite and helpful. even if I looked dumb haha

Not to mention, the food blew me away. They have a tremendous variety of both entrees and appetizers, and do a great job of serving classic foods you know with a unique flair. There's something for everybody here, and whatever you order is sure to be an unusual eating experience. enjoyed every minute of it

    Where do I begin?!
I wanted to surprise my wife with a birthday dinner at Abacus. OMG, Heather and the staff helped me tremendously in coordinating this event. They orchestrated my wife's family arrival time and seating, and helping us time our arrival perfectly as to surprise my wife when she walked into the dining area.. Our waiter was phenomenal. And the manager on duty was fantastic to deal with. Our overall service was excellent to say the least
A huge THANK YOU to Heather and the entire staff for helping create such a wonderful experience for my family. We will definitely be joining you again on our next celebration event.
Personally I give this place 10 stars!! **********

This is supposed to be one of the best restaurants in Dallas but we had a disappointing experience. The food was excellent but the service was sub par. Everything was slow to a point where we were wondering if we should just leave. Right as we were going to call it, the waiter came by and apologized but then the food still didn't come. By the time we got the food, we'd filled up on bread. Very fortunately my wife and I had decided to share an entree and we enjoyed the food otherwise we'd have had to waste most of it as they're a good size. We had to forego dessert as we were afraid that would take a long time. The kitchen did send us a small dessert sample. Overall a sub par experience for such a talked about place.

    “The ultimate food experience”
If you love, and I mean love, good quality tender, juicy, perfectly cooked steak this is the place to go. I've eaten here many times, never been disappointed. Their aged beef is so flavorful and tender there is no comparison. I've eaten at Mortons, Ruth Chris, Chamberlains, Bob's Chop House, all serious steak houses. But nothing makes my mouth water

We enjoyed our dinner here. The service and the food are top notch. The wait staffs treated us well and make us comfortable. It’s also a perfect place to have dinner date or a birthday dinner.

We dined at Abacus for New Years Eve. They served a prix fixe menu containing what we were told are many items from the regular menu. Everything was spectacular. Beef Pirogi, Salmon tar tare, venison tenderloin, and the house specialty lobster shooters were all out of this world. The service was as good as service can be, unfailingly professional with exceptional attention to detail. With dinner we had a mix of cocktails, some old standbys along with some house specialties. All were precisely crafted and well balanced. A truly memorable experience!
