1842 was lovely. Our innkeepers were hospitable without being nosy. The wall of famous visitors was impressive. The decor is beautiful as well as charming. Sleep well in macon at the 1842. Oh! And breakfast was delicious too!

Wonderful place. Great charachter. Everone looked after us amazingly well. The lounge and terraces are lovely to sit in with a drink or for breakfast.

The location is great because it's not that far from downtown Macon. The Inn itself is beautiful and is very antique and homey. It has a beautiful scenery and the people are the nicest you'll ever meet. I didn't care for breakfast much but they have the option to bring it to your room which is nice.

The 1842 Inn is elegant, historic, and modern where appropriate. From the moment you walk in you're greeted by a warm atmosphere that is styled exactly like a mansion from the Old South. The southern charm of this place is also reflected in the staff, all of whom are very friendly, helpful, and kind. We stayed in the Mercer bedroom, and we found that the electronics had been modernized without compromising the old-style feel of this place. Plus, not only is the breakfast really good with several options, but they give you the option of eating in your room, in the courtyard/garden area, or in the parlors.

We have visited the 1842 once a year for my great aunt's birthday for the past three years. There are 20-30 people in the party and we just fit in the first floor.

The staff is always very welcoming treats us like family. I would not hesitate to recommend the 1842 inn to anyone who would to visit, either overnight or for a gathering.
