We stayed 1 night in Ramada Plaza Hotel for Kar Tepe ski activity. The hotel located not very near to city center but you can find small shops and restaurants near by. I strongly recommend Jumbo Künefe (600 metre away from hotel) if you like Turkish deserts. Generally hotel was clean, room space was comfortable enough for us. We reached the hotel at evening and they have already prepared our daughters' bed (we asked additional bed for her when we booked) as well. Hotel has its own active gym with indoor swimming pool and free for hotel guests.

A perfect place to stay in Izmit. Good Wi-Fi connection for free, big parking. In general a great hotel very clean and they speek a bit of English.

The hotel is above average for the area. The staff are nice and friendly and they all speak good English. This is the place I enjoy staying at most when I am traveling in the kocaeli/Izmit region. The let-down is the area around the hotel, but if you venture a bit more towards the otogar (bus station) and take a right, you will find some good places to eat and hang out in the evening.

I've stayed at Ramada quite a few times for business. The rooms are ample sized and clean; same goes for the bathrooms. The north shield pub has decent food (western cuisine mostly, only a few local dishes) and drinks. Facilities are good as well, with a small gym etc.

Small and cozy hotel. Food and restaurant is below average. It has a bar inside call north shields with a wide range of beer selection. Food in the bar is ok, though it is very expensive when compared with other bars in the city.
