Kind of charming place with lots of model boats, old cars, a submarine, etc. Packed with Turkish school children when we were there on a weekday. Some of the attractions only operate on the weekend do keep that in mind. Also don't forget to get timed tickets for the submarine when you buy your entrance tickets. They don't really explain that.

Outstanding! :) One of the best in whole Turkey.
Submarine tour, Golden Horn tour and planetarium are not included into the main tour cost. Visit the museum's site to find all the information you need.

This place is a real treat. See engineering marvels from times past and a nice collection of cars, carriages, bicycles and machines. Not forgetting boats. Children will love the place. There is a good collection of Doll's house. and a quaint tea shop if your grandma is tired!

As the other guides wrote before me, the museum is definitely worth visiting.
If you're with the kids, it's a place to thoroughly study.
It's covering the fields of transport on land/sea/air, communications and some manufacturing.
I personally loved the collection of cars, commercial and industrial vehicles.
The kids loved the trains and trams. Also there's a toy collection.
There is also a submarine but it's not for children under 7 yo.
Staff is kid friendly as they have many children in organised groups and workshops in Turkish.

It's the best place of Istanbul! Museum has a lot to see, so when you go there be ready to spend no less than 3 hours. Great for children! History, since, arts, cars and trains all together in an amazing gallery. Very impressive!

RMK museum is a science museum. Content is spread to 2 buildings very near to each other. In one, small items are displayed. The other holds very interesting pieces, like exceptional vintage cars, one submarine, railroad cars, model trains, marine equipment, e.t.c. Highly recommended.

Guidance for more efficient visit shall be improved. Museum is huge and sometimes we felt like there were something we missed and there were something we saw twice. Anyway worth to spend all day.

Rahmi M.Koç Museum is one of the best private museums in Istanbul if not the best. It has a wide collection of industrial items picked throughout decades. You can take a steamboat ride on the lovely Golden Horn between May-October for a very reasonable price. The museum hosts a decommissioned Turkish Navy submarine as well. The exhibit is open after 5pm everyday. This is a must-see museum, you won't regret the time you will spare for it.

A must go if you have kids (especially boys). prepare for 2 to 4 hours of fun so it is better to be there around 10 when they open. not crowded at all, very clean and very organized. everything there is well thought of. the tickets costs around 4$ but the submarine tour has its own ticket and timing. snacks can be found at the ship next to the submarine so you can have a snack or a nice Turkish tea while waiting for the submarine tour.

An excellent place to lose yourself for 3 hours or more. Beautifully presented exhibits, information in both Turkish and English as well as reasonably priced refreshments. It can be noisy at times as the kids get very excited and race around so be warned.

Rahmi M. Koç Museum is extremely large and variagated, so much that it could be divided into five different museums. Every object on display, regardless of size (as large as a cruise ship or as small as its toy model), was incredibly well preserved, clean and polished. The museum's hygiene was almost comparable to that of a Cleanroom dedicated for nanotechnology research. The only downside was that the tour was exhausting, and after a while of seeing hundreds of impressive devices, you can't look at every unique item to fully appreciate it.

One of the best museum you should visit in Istanbul, It is an industrial museum that has very interesting things you can see like classic cars, ships, boats, air planes, computers all from the late 19's,, There is a section for kids so you can take your kids with you, Go early in the morning so you see everything..

What an absolute gem of a collection. A brilliant museum by a discerning collector clearly. I come from London and have visited many of the great museums of the world but this is right up there. Just so much fun. What a great way of giving something back to his home city but doesn't Rahmi Koc just sometimes wish he could drive his '64 Mustang or his Ford Gallaxie Starliner around Istanbul? I know I would.

Very interesting and curiously organized museum packed with various man-made objects from different historical stages, basically a museum of human history as seen through material world. It's announced as museum of industry, communication and transport, but we preferred to call it "the museum of everything". Especially impressed by collections of REAL cars (from early steam-engine ones to glossy American 60's classics), as well as motorbikes, bicycles, kids trolleys and other moving devices wittily accompanied by various atmospheric stuff like old posters or vitrines with ladies vintage hats. Life-size tram and railway carriages you came walk in to are also impressive. Don't miss to have a cup of Turkish tea (for 1TL !!!) in a cute "retro street cafe" in the beginning of the car gallery. Highly recommend to reserve several hours for this place. We had only 2 hours before closing time and haven't seen a half of it.
