Very warm temperature and humidity inside the airport, even in the morning. The bathrooms were all very crowded and needed to be cleaned. The Duty Free areas were nice. Considering most gates were not announced, there isn't much available seating while you wait to find out what gate is assigned.

Excellent facility. Lots of busy restaurants and tax free shopping. Pretty well organised and secure despite the horrific flow of flights. Hosts one of the world's best lounges.

I was underwhelmed by the helpfulness of the staff at the transfer desk. For the four different workers at the desk who were asked for assistance in getting a wheelchair for a member of our group who was ill, please be aware that Yes! Your airport does have wheelchairs! In the future if someone needs one, please tell them to continue down the concourse for a very short distance and they will be found on the right. I do apologize for sneaking one out of the area, but strangely enough (cough cough) there wasn’t anyone stationed there to help me.

Had quite tough time at this airport. Had to wait long time for my transfer flight and there are no drinking water fountains there. Had no local currency or dollars and didn't warn my bank about visit to Turkey, so there was no way to get water there. This is not acceptable for hub airport, I think. Turkish airlines were quite good actually, but because of this airport I will try to avoid them in future unfortunately

One of the most busiest airports in the world. The passenger amount passing through here have doubled in a relatively short time. You can imagine what that does for the services provided. Expect to have mainly non-gate arrivals reducing your already short transfer times with an additional bus ride. Long queues are commonplace here in all of the areas (immigration, security, gates etc.).
The terminals can also be difficult to navigate, and distances to walk are long. Make sure you have plenty of time for your transfer here.response / report this review -

I had the "honor" to meet this wonderful airport two times, including spending a night at it. Some of the staff at transit desk didn't speak any English, hotel desk staff was rude. The prices are high as well. No free wifi available. Fortunately, there is only one terminal, where one can reach all of the gates within 10 minutes of walking distance. A certain part of the terminal (gates 3xx) lack heating ,this may be bothering especially at night. Toilets are dirty .I think they should definitely do something, by the way it is a "world class airport", an important global hub

I've been to over 60 countries all around the world and this is the WORST AIRPORT. I absolutely hate getting routed through here even though I do like Turkish Airlines. This place is just filthy and unlike basically every other airport in the world, there is no where to sit??? It's just bizarre. There is no WIFI at the airport!? In 2017??? Also, the entire airport only sells little tiny water bottles and they are like $8 a pop and you can't drink the water. It's so ridiculously wasteful. I'm pretty sure anyone who actually likes this airport is either in a private lounge or has never seen an airport before.

Have been flying through yeah for a few years. Its Heavily crowded, kinda like a refugee camp. However, the layout of the airport is great. Wide variety of shops and an awesome food court. Still, its just too crowded.

Beautiful airport and plenty of duty free shopping to be done. Enough places to eat or drink during your layover. The staff could be a bit more friendly. The toilets are not very well taken of.

Its a very beautiful Airport but everything is here too much expensive compared to other international airport. Wifi facilities also very poor. If you wanna buy something from here, think twice and covert the price with your local currency. Then you can understand. Even the dubai is much more cheaper than here. Anyway I enjoyed my time every time I've visited this airport. Its have amazing view. A beautiful Airport with mesmerizing view of hills and sea.

You have to take a long walk from one terminal to another. Sometimes it would cause you to miss the flight. It would be an easy solution to add a train running from terminal to terminal. Too many redundant security checks. The airport definitely needs upgrading.

I've been through over 100 airports. This one is the absolute worst. Crowded. People laying on the floor all over the place. Expensive and terrible food. Understaffed. The airplanes never park where they should, always away from the gate area and they have you crowd into a bus. It's just ridiculous. It's sad because Istanbul is one of the most beautiful cities I've ever seen. If you're switching airlines here make sure you have at least a 3 hour layover. The connecting flights desk is a crowd of people pushing their way to be served first.

A modern and clean airport with friendly staff. You should try to arrive three hours before your flight, passport control took us almost an hour on a quiet day at 6am, departure gates can take up to 15-20 minutes to get to. Could be better with more staff.

It's fine and got what you need. The place is really huge so you will probably see people with different nationalities all over the place, which is the reason that this place is cool. The not so good side of this place is that it does not "do" more than that. Maybe the new airport can be a better version of this one?

Actually quite a nice airport but it's extremely overcrowded (runs at about 2.5 times its max capacity if I remember correctly) . Make sure you have enough time to make your connections. A plus is the metro connection to the city and of course the extremely extensive network of Turkish Airlines. There are a lot of food options, its typical airport style pricy though. Well, I guess the new airport can't open soon enough.

This is a great airport. Good helpful staff. A lot of stores and options for food, from restaurants to food courts. There are really nice lounges. The signs also gives you the walking time to a gate, so you know how long the walk to your gate would take.

Really busy airport. City in the city. Multicultural preview of nations. Each few minutes it is landing a new airplane. It is interesting to be there only for it. To see a ground service cars, buses and other vehicles it is a orient orchestra. But the free WiFi for 2 hours it did not work totally.

Huge facility with a lot of shops, cafes and restaurants. Security and passport controls are usually quite fast. In order to enter the airport you need to pass an additional security gate. The airport is well connected to the "city center" by a metro station and an airport shuttle (havabüs).

Nice very very good. The most exciting things I search for any international airport is how the departures are well equipped with Duty Free items and it didn't let me down. With chocolates and Perfumes always on my list, I had a gala time. Staff was good so was overall experience. Way to Go Istanbul.
