Warm and comfortable hostel, the fire was kept stoked even after 10pm. Kitchen was a pretty decent sized, bathrooms clean. There is a game room and tv room. Like three lovely cats around.

I've stayed in a lot of YHA motels, but this one takes the prize. This is the best YHA i've ever been too. Chose a shared dorm room, as always economic, rooms are considerably spacious, and maybe every inch of this is place is clean and makes you feel at home. Morover the lawns are amazing, I have never seen people just lying down in the lawn in the sun, reading books, Chilling in the hammocks - this place is amazing. Definitely coming back here.

Beware of the ''funny'' stuff Booked us a double room for 70NZD a night. Then we saw that the hostel has only 200MB of free WiFi. For our question regarding an unlimited WiFi spot in town the lady behind the counter advised us, that people who are to broke to be dependent on free WiFi from the library should better not travel.

There is a difference between broke and avoiding to get ribbed of by those expensive prices hostels and other places are asking for Wifi. If we would have been broke we would not have booked a double room. But for sure we won't book another stay at this place again

Ok rooms, some noise from the surroundings and the building itself (loose items smashing against the wall when windy). Cute dog in reception, and cosy open fire in the lounge area.

I took my parents here for their first hostel experience. They loved it. The house is gorgeous and the facilities are more than ample for a packed house. Particularly the kitchen which is huge and has significant equipment. Rooms were clean and large. Definitely recommend.
