Great value and a really classic Kiwi experience. Friendly staff and overall feeling to the place. Not sure why there are poor reviews circulating as we found everything just fine
My family and i were there just a few hrs ago..we booked the flat for $200 a nite..the flat is no where near what is on the website..there was no way i would let my family stay there..one word to describe it - S H I T!! The pools were ok but definitely won't be going there again EVER!
Good thing is that it is near Hamilton centre. Only regular hot pools, nothing fancy or nature like ones. Strangely, showers with cold water only!! No coffee machines. Didn't try the slide, seems lot of fun though. Kids pools too small, mild hot. Large pool ok, less hot than the kids'. The medium pool was good, very hot water. Heaps of space for picnics. Probably won't go there again.
Great place for a family day out or just a god soak in the pools. Can't wait to go back! The pub next door is also charmingly old fashioned and the food and service was excellent 5 stars well deserved 😊
We enjoyed going for a swim today. Staff were nice and friendly. Environment was tidy and clean and pools were also clean. Slides were open but we got there a bit late so just had quick turn. Highly recommend this place. Very beautiful scenery.
Family friendly location. Perfect getaway from cities, and warm pools. The staff are welcoming.
Had booked Waitangi weekend a cabin for a family of 5 got there at the time we said we were going to be there to find out they had double booked our cabin. They got hold of the other family by phone who cancelled their booking which gave us the opportunity to take the cabin we had booked 3 months prior. The cabin at $100 per night was pretty basic we had 2 bunks with a dbl being the bottom of one bunk and the top had no mattress and slats. Had advised them we were coming with a 11mth old child they said they could accomodate his bedding needs so didnt bother with the portacot only to find out that there was nothing for him. Even if he could sleep on a bunk the mattress and slats were missing!! My 2 other children shared the other bunk. The bedroom kitchen and dining was one room. No basic needs ie broom to sweep up only the small shovel. Only a 2 cooker to cook on no oven there was a shared kitchen which was disgusting. No proper dishes and thats just the cabin. The pools had rubbish around them, the hydroslide pool area was dirty from the mud being dragged in from out the gate. The park area was filthy and uninviting. The pools were very warm and the lifeguards didnt really look qualified to save a life!! The shared toilets and showers were basic and tv room area is where i saw the lifeguards and maintenance men most of the time. After the 1st night i wanted to leave. In saying all that my kids enjoyed themselves which is what really matters. I loved going to Waingaro hot pools as a child but its gone to the pack the shop is disturbing. The people who run it need to give it back to the iwi. Clean it up or give it up!!
We were a big group coming from 3 different locations, mainly Auckland. We had booked 2 months before we were attending, paid a huge deposit. We turned up on the day we said we will be there to check-in for our cabins and tenting grounds. only to find out, that our booking for cabins were all mixed up. the only great good we got from this, was the fact they relocated us across the road and booked us in the 2 hotels and allowed us to camp on site without extra charge besides the fee we paid for those camping etc. However, the hotel was a little run down and needs equipment's, such as a vac-cum. First time staying over and we had a blast, the pools however, need to cleaned daily. the 2 days we were there and in the pool grounds. Only 1 person made an effort to thoroughly clean the surface. My family and i had an incident with the Older Woman(No Name Tag??) She deliberately threw my 3 year old nephew out of the kids slide into the pool, without his mother's Consent and knowledge, my cousin's wife whom was currently present and watched this lady approach her son in a poorly and Rude manner towards the Child couldn't make it to the woman in time as she is currently pregnant, but had family close by to witness the incident. We made a formal complaint to Lifeguard on duty but no further action was taken. The extended family left in anger, and will not be Re-turning to anymore events or functions that will be held in the near future at Waingaro. Over all some of families had a great time, although i rate 2 stars for the fact my son had a great time whilst being there.
Great getaway from busy life. If you looking for peace and quiet this is the place to go. Note: no network
Was here for my nephews birthday had been over 10 yrs since I last came and it will be at least 20 yrs before I ever consider going back. What a dump! Needs a safety inspector and better management. One of the most beautiful places in the country just turning to crap! Come on people ðŸ˜
