The room and service absolutely can't be beat. Very quiet, clean, modern and comfortable. The owner is amazing. She took my sister and I all over, even out of her way. She also helped us with our Hobbiton reservations. Plus she helped us try to find a precious pair of earrings my sister lost. Such a caring and fun lady. I HIGHLY recommend the Tower Motel.

Me and my friend stayed here for three nights and we where surprised by the really good service of tower road motel.

If you are going to hobbiton and want to drink a beer or two this is the place to stay. Free transport to the I-site and the hobbiton staff will take you back to the motel.

The staff was so nice to us!

Really large rooms and super helpful staff with wifi on offer. Only regret is not staying here for longer and spending a bit more time in matamata. They have laundry services you can use, very well suited for families looking for long stays as the units are spacious with TV and board games. Would recommend to friends staying in the area, reception told us about going to hobbiton later in the day, definitely a pro tip if you want a smaller tour group. Very thankful!

Although we were only here one night, this motel left us with happy memories of a pleasant stay. Our family of four were in a separate cottage with its own garage. Beds were comfy and the bathroom roomy. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable, happy to stop for a few minutes and chat. The grounds include a huge back garden which is a tranquil place. The motel is only a matter of minutes away from the town centre, but is distinctly rural in character. Highly recommended!
