Went there for dinner and I had very good food. Definitely suggested. The atmosphere is great.

Great restaurant and cosy atmosphere family villas are good. Single units are not so good interior is dated and many things needs makeover

I've never felt so unwelcome. Staying at a 5-star chalet we were rudely told on both nights that we couldn't eat at their restaurant..first because it was so quiet they decided to close, recommending burger king and second because it was so busy, they couldn't accommodate 2 people and to quote "they would run out of food and already everyone had to stay until 10pm". We were then told rather sarcastically that we should book at any restaurant in New Zealand if we wanted to eat there. Hardly 5 star service, regret staying here.

Quite a nice lodge, all rooms are lockwood. We stayed in a studio cabin but they have full homes available. Quite close to the lake and the mountains.

Setting is incredible and accom top notch at reasonable rates. Really enjoyed my three day stay (not fishing just with wife and kid). Service at dinner and breakfast let them down though - maybe a training issue I know it must be tough getting experienced staff. Great spot when you're passing through!

It is a very nice chalet, spacy room with a very nice bathroom, very nice timber restaurant, good food, beautiful garden, a very lovely place to stay. 👍👍👍👍👍

If you aren't a hunting, shooting, fishing person probably best not to go here. You will get better value in Taupo. The staff are fantastic.

Set in beautiful surroundings, you couldn't ask for more. Great food, great villa accommodation, and nice food.
Bonus is that it's close enough for skiing in the winter and taupo in the summer.response / report this review -

We stayed for a wedding, the setting is absolutely beautiful, the staff were excellent and the food amazing. Only good things to say about this place!
